What kind of caterpillar is eating my apple trees?

I have these caterpillars eating all of the leaves on my apple trees. I am in New York and need to know what they are and what I can use to get rid of them.

I found your caterpillar, it's a Red Humped Caterpillar Moth (Schizura concinna ).

You'll have to do a search on how to deal with them, I have no idea.

If you need to be rid of them pehaps spraying with BT will help...

Thanks for the help thistlebloom. momofdrew I will be making a trip to the home Depot to pick up some BT insecticide. Hope it will do the trick.
