As you can see all the earthworms have eaten all the straw off of the garden over the winter. (Disclaimer, no earthworms were damaged in the tilling and shooting of camera shots)

it was pretty nice here yesterday with the sunshine. warmth might be another issue. we won't be planting anything for 2-4 weeks yet. it frosted here last night and is in the forecast through the week yet and i'm sure for a time. we can get snowed up into April...

So when do you get warmth and sunshine?
We get sunshine most of the time. Warmth is relative.....50 degrees in spring is warm while freezing in fall. Garden time is late April till October. With peak late July/August-tomato/pepper season.
