Currently a college student studying political science. I love gardening and plant all different varieties of fruits and vegetables. Usually I plant beans, tomatoes, potatoes, radishes, strawberries, raspberries (bushes), squash, carrots and peas. I've also added an apple tree to the garden! I'm always looking to live and learn, so any feedback on this site is greatly appreciated!
I also am starting to work in projects that bring fresh food into the urban areas in NJ that have limited access to fresh, organic produce. I believe that everybody should be able to reap the benefits of a garden, regardless of location or socioeconomic status. My garden gives me a strong sense of pride, as I start plants from seed and eventually harvest delicious fresh food from them. The only thing greater than this is sharing the experience with others who might not be able to garden.
Lastly, I raise backyard chickens, and actually found this site through BackyardChickens.com. I love all 14 of my hens and rest easy knowing that my eggs come from healthy, happy, well-treated birds! While they provide my family with food, they are treated like royalty and as close to me as any pet I've ever had. You can find my on BYC under the same username!
