Best day yet! High of 51 degrees F, wind 6mph.
Gotta drive to feed DD's "chonks" (2 fat cats) first, then outside to spend time working on the property.
I promise to take my phone today and take pictures, but I will probably post them to my 2025 thread, just FYI:
Good soaking rain last night that watered the onions, spinach, chives, bee balm and radishes that I planted yesterday! HATE, HATE, HATE the time change!!! :somad
Fortunately, with DD's at a con, DH decided that we should eat dinner from the fridge, meaning defrost the previously cooked single porterhouse and share it with potatoes, my canned green beans and a can of baked beans.
Don't need to shower bc we aren't Going anywhere!

all of our snow here is now melted off other than a few piles in parking lots and some of the larger ditches have shadows and perhaps in some woods still.

the ground may not quite be thawed out yet though.

A drizzly day — and we have had more March afternoons with the thermometer failing to reach 50⁰f (10⁰C) than afternoons that were warmer. That trend is forecast to continue with the expectation of even more wintery conditions over the next few days. The last of the snow in the yard disappeared over the weekend; it would be a little surprising to see some of it return.

Despite the forecast, the robins are back. Small flocks were just to the north of homebase and a few were establishing territories at a park we visited Monday. There has been no sign of any robins this season wintering over.

The Migrants and the Locals should plan on hunkering down for the next few days.

It is raining hard here tonight! Kind of exciting! Tomorrow will be more of the usual around here in early Spring - clouds and mild temps.
