BTW. I mentioned using mayonnaise on both sides of the bread making a grilled sandwich on TEG some time ago.

the idea hasn't ever appealed to me. butter the bread on one side that goes down into the pan with the butter side down. fry until golden brown for Mom - burn it a little or a lot for me...

the mix of salt, sweet, vinegar and spices in Miracle Whip is not one i'd want to fry, the regular mayo we get is just the store brand and it is fine for what we do with it (we make a lot of pasta salad. that and ranch dressing are the two most frequent uses of it, i like it once in a while on a cheese sandwich instead of MW but i don't normally use mayo as a first choice over MW often).

salty things i don't usually go for in general. garlic bread is one of the exceptions... (just had some for a snack :) ).

Coffee. I will survive now….. out of cream, but I’ll survive that too. Had a lovely afternoon with friends yesterday, got home right before dark and got animals fed. AC was blowing hot air, was 81F in the house. I shut it off, called son to complain. He suggested that I go to his house and sleep on the recliner sofa, so I did. Only sleep was fractured, kept waking up, gave up at 3 AM and came home and made coffee. It’s now 77F in the house, barely tolerable, I’ll be calling AC man soon. I’d open the windows and let the cool night air in, but I’m blessed with tiny flea sized biting gnats that can go through the screens. I hate them.
