@flowerbug,
Your package has arrived. I haven't opened it yet. It must have been put on my doorstep sometime this morning. I think it might have even been delivered to the wrong address. The package was not there when I went out the front door this morning to dispose of my weekly garbage.
No way of knowing if your parcel made in on time. I would doubt it. It probably would need 7 to 10 days to make it there. Will see what happens. Perhaps they will remember that I get a number of parcels and have always followed the rules. Maybe they will be lenient. Fingers crossed.
Three...
Flowerbug that is great ! Now I can soon back up Artur's network requests when your package arrives and mail them off to him.
If it's of any interest to overseas and Canadian network growers. I did successfully sign up for a new Small Seed Lots account on this past Wednesday the 13th of...
The Network package return of the day goes to @heirloomgal. The beans of course I knew by all your photos were going to look fantastically stunning. On the paperwork return inside the package. I don't know who did it but the expiration was circled. Does that mean that the inspection station is...
I get enough boxes each autumn I could turn them all inside out. What kind of glue do you use that will hold the cardboard inner tap from coming apart.
Here is something I thought would be fun to share with you. Recently I got a bean from one of our Network growers on Vancouver Island BC. This grower found this rounded very blue bean in Blue And White Of Bernardo. This bean is very dry at this point and it hasn't turned a black blue like...
@Artorius,
Your bean package arrived today. Thank you so much. They traveled from a very far away place from here. The beans were just gorgeous. Colors were fantastic. You packed then so neat. It was just like that box you used was custom made for those bean packets.
The Andante - 2023 is not frozen seed. Photo #2 is how it appeared when I first harvested it 2 years ago. If the seed were frozen it would still appear as it does in Photo #2. Freezing stops the darkening.
About 5 years ago Curt Burrough of Leota, Iowa sent me a number of his limas. He's bred some nice orignals. Among them was this rich brown looking lima a cross he made with Ping Zebra. He didn't have name for it and told me I could come up with a name and since it colors darken slowly I named it...
White Robin - Semi Runner Dry. A Robert Lobitz original named bean from about 23 years ago. My best year with this bean was 2014. I must have grown nearly a pound of the seed back then. This years story of struggling beans was a common thing among a lot of growers this year. I harvested .85 of...
Vermont Mohawk - Pole Dry. Another strugling bean but I did get a small amount of quality seed. 5.55 ounces, 157 grams. This year was the 5th time I have grown this bean since 2015. Last year the beans were so twisted and mishappen I didn't even harvest them. Will try them again next year. The...
Tunny - Pole Dry. This bean had a hard time trying to grow this summer too. I got it from Beans & Herbs in the UK. Decoy1 might have sent me some also. I think it's a pretty bean. I'm sure in a better summer it's probably very productive. Harvested 2.40 ounces of beans, 68 grams.
Vaquero - Semi...
Put all the Network packets that have come in so far all together on the dinning room table. I think there might be close to that many more yet to come in. I've started putting them away in the freezer and recording their location in the boxes that they wind up going into.
Trebulino Di Domenico - Pole Dry. Beautiful Italina bean. Another bean that struggled all summer and is normally a very productive variety. Harvested .90 of an ounce, 25 grams.
Tresnjevac - Pole Dry. Acquired some seed from Beans & Herbs in the UK. It grew fairly but I'm sure I haven't seen...
Tennessee Wonder - Pole Snap - Old snap bean variety introduced into the seed trade in the early 1900's but goes back into the 1800's. The bean did well grown in my back yard. I hadn't grown this bean since 2016. I had about 8 to 10 plant all total and they produced 22.65 ouces of seed, 642...
Wouldn't a PayPal, Venmo or some sort of payment transfer company worked instead of cash? Then there is no envelope to open and steal your money. Everyone should have a PayPal account. I've been on PayPal for over 20 years.
Serenity - Pole dry. Discovered this in a bean three years ago that came from another discovered bean 10 years ago that I called Super Bean. A vigorous climber. I planted Serenity this year and didn't get any segregations so decided on this name. The seed colors are very subdued and I wonder if...
