I'm glad I'm married because I can see my daughters doing something like this to me.

A good year for peas :)

I remember seeing where someone had cut off most of their bean vines(and disposing) one year and the vines grew back to a nice crop. Usually mine are really disease ridden by the time I've been picking for a while but I've often thought about trying this.

    It's 124°f in ..

When we didn't have a.c. we would put box fans in the windows and even in 100 it was pretty nice at nice. A cool shower before bed. I heard that you can hang wet sheets in the windows to help cool for people without fans.

A good year for peas :)

I use to grow sugar snaps but I could never grow enough because the Wildbunch and DH would eat them as fast as they grew so very few made it to the house. I like peas because here you can grow them early and still have time for something else but I didn't get my fence up in time for spring...

    AMKuska's 2017 Garden

My garden is really small. About 10 X 12 feet at most. Just plant a few things you love and don't waste space on stuff you don't. Tomatoes, peppers and squash is a must for me.

    Eggplant Parmigiana

I make eggplant parmigiana but I bread and bake the slices instead of frying. I like it so much better than chicken parmigiana. I get it once in awhile at a Italian restaurant in the city (not the Olive Garden). The chef is from Italy and loves to greet you. His kitchen is open and you can watch...

    Roasted Tomato Spaghetti Sauce

Thanks for steering me to this post. I don't have enough plants to do much with but last year my church let us have tomatoes. I ended up with over 100 pounds that I mostly froze and some that I gave away. Maybe they will have more this year or I can buy a couple of bushels. I have a electric...

Chickens for bug control and food recycling.

That's what I do too but after five of them I am pretty much through for the day unless I can get my sons to help. Pulling skins of old boys is so tough but the young ones much easier.

I was going to make one. After buying all the parts for the handheld drill version, I couldn't loosen up the bit with my drill chuck to put the long threaded thingy in. I was not happy.

    Family Reunion

The last time all my siblings were together was for Daddy's funeral about twelve years ago so it was nice. We didn't even argue.

I would love to find a good deal on a chicken plucker. If me or DH was mechanically inclined we could build one but sadly we are not.:(

Some new sedum/succulents in my rock garden.

I've heard cacti are good for planting under windows to keep people from breaking in your house. I planted a knockout rose under the kids bedroom window because they kept climbing out it.
