I've done a few insecticidal soaks and have had mediocre success :/. Thought about yanking this sucker from the pot and doing a cutting to soak, but ended up not.
I brought up doing a cutting from the corm and cleaning it but the wife declined. We've certainly had our fair share of...
Well, it hadn't been looking top notch recently and my wife finally noticed a massive amount of female scales all over some of the leaves. I bought this for hir birthday two years ago, so this was sad to cut it all down and toss it outside :(. Hope it didn't spread :(

So I have a Husqvarna TS 348 XD riding mower. I bought a three basket grass catcher for it but find that when I have it all set up that the tube that runs between the mower deck and the basket cover on the back slips out more than it should (ever?) and ends up deflecting all that grass or...
So we grew kohlrabi this year.
How the hell do you all use this? My wife asked me to grow it, so I did, but the few we've harvested seem to have a lot of wasted core in the corm (I don't know what to call it. Is it a core if it's above ground?) and so the flesh you get is small.
I'm...
Harvested some zucchini we should have harvested a bit ago. 10 year old for scale
And also harvested some kohlrabi, which is a first. 3 (almost 4) year old for scale
So I've been using Magoosh.com and I'm impressed. It's been easy to use, welcoming, has practice GRE tests you can sign up for (I'm taking one tomorrow as a baseline) and the instructors aren't scary (that's a thing).
Anyways, they had a deal in June that for $163 (or something like that) you...
Weeding is fun, right? :(
Anyways, I spent the last two days (seriously, out before 8 and in around 7) weeding our squash area and then our raspberries and blueberries. I attempted our squash in mounds -- noble, right? -- but I need to do some SERIOUS mulching this fall and maybe some tilling...
I have a really hard time relaxing. I feel like I'm just wasting good time that I could be doing something else. However, I've been doing **** outside for the past 9.5 hours and a little hammock time is probably good.
Listening to the thunder above.
I'll probably get up in 5 min because I...
Thanks. I really hate online courses, but that's the world we're in now, so it might be what I have to adhere to :(
I like your point about things coming back quickly, but not immediately. That alone means it might be good to take that prep course. Money is certainly an ingredient in this...
Thanks. My friend who got a PhD from the department I'm interested mentioned a different prof than the one I'm interested in that has a lot of experience with non-trads with full-time jobs. Maybe I'll reach out to see if they can give me a connection that I could ask some questions to.
I'd...
Well, I was worried about a lot of that, but apparently this professor is impressed enough with other folks raving about me that she's just saying "go take the test and do well enough to not fail", so I'm trying to figure out what I'm walking into here.
So I've made the decision to to back to school and further my education. I have a professor who is interested/wanting to work with me and at this point she basically said "let's keep chatting, but go get the minimum GRE score".
So, has anyone taken it recently? Have you taken it as a non-trad...
It went pretty well. I mean, we had a ramshackle setup (screwed a board to two trees (amur maple, so don't waste any tears on them) and attached the control cone to that) and had my normal woodworking temp-table (horses with some 2x6s and a sheet of plywood I cut in half and cut comfy handholds...
