@catjac1975 - Was thinking about Ny and sumi both recently :( I didn't get the chance to really know either, but gosh I am feeling for their families during the holidays and wishing them all well. And to those who really new him as a friend, I wish you well too.

It seems the best bet will be to preserve these instead of trying to root and risk them ruining. As mentioned I did take and press some petals and small flowers and for the sake of I did take the stems and put them in some soil in a small inside pot with sun. I’m not the greatest at plants but...
My grandfather in law passed a few days ago, and after the funeral his girls (mother in law included) and grandma in law asked if I wanted to take a rose and baby’s breath home from his spray as they were themselves. They each expressed interested in wanting to try and root the flowers. I...
We've got two small batches dehydrated so far and they're currently in a tight shaker jar. If we continue to get more and the bushes grow any (they seem stunted from this weird weather we had) then I will have to use @Ridgerunner 's suggestion on powdering it and storing in a tight canning jar.

I was just thinking about Ny and sumi. Has there been any discussion of a smiley on behalf of sumi, similar to Ny's flower?

@AMKuska
I'm not sure how they would do for you but I can see if he has any seed - I know a few years back he had deer and surprisingly coyotes tear through a patch. If he does, I'll try and get more and send a few your way if you'd like. I still have to get with him on corn seed anyways.
This may be a bit late as I happened to just see the thread- but we're going to suggest the hometown favorite that's now made it into some big seed catalogs. A variety named the Clay County Yellowmeat (alternately Yellow Meat) was developed here in our county and it's DELICIOUS! It's such an...
