@Nyboy You must have someone on your staff you can "groom" to take over the running of things if needed. If not, think about it, hope it never happens but it's best to be prepared. Think of all the stress that will be averted if you can leave things in capable hands, I'm sure your clients would...
"And so the slug population isn't too high here, in fact lower than in most of UK."
LUCKY, LUCKY, you. The worst year I can recall was the year one morning we picked over 40 snails of the trunk and branches of our dogwood tree, and at night they slithered across all our windows leaving their...
@Decoy1 I'm just above the Canada U.S. border on Vancouver Island. Your climate and mine are just about the same. On the rare occasion we hit the 90's in the summer but not often, when it does this I turn into a whining, sniveling, hide in the house pitiful mess, I admit it, no guts. Going by...

UPDATE: on Ralph's Italian Heirloom pole bean my (Only the Lonely) I've posted elsewhere about this. In a nutshell I couldn't get any of my seed to germinate until low and behold I found one lone bean still in the bottom of the packet, it actually germinated. Planted late surrounded by a...
@Decoy1 I have both of these beans in my collection but haven't grown them in a few years. There are so many beans that look alike and seed that look identical but they are different. One observation of mine, the pod shape is different, Major Cook's being more curved, Mrs. Fortune's straighter...
I love lamb but the only time I ever had it was when I was very young at my grandparents on my mother's side, they'd invite me when they were having it.
Both sides of my family immigrated from the U.K. in the early 1900's. My dad grew up having to eat a lot of mutton as a kid, he would't have it...
The rarer or more harder to find get first choice, or ones that I have shared a few more than I should have and my stash is real low. If there's lots in circulation I bypass them for that new one I just had to have ;). The confessions of a bean addict :).

I also keep a master list on the computer with the following info like...

Each year I check out what I want to grow or more important what I should be growing.

I now keep all my seed in a little chest freezer bought just for this purpose. Only the ones I plan on growing the next season are kept in zip locks in a tote in a cool room. Making sure your newly harvested seed is thoroughly dry before storing is very important, mine are dried in little...
Double :drool:drool :drool:drool, I love lamb, don't have it often, too darn expensive up here but for a special occasion I'll do a rack of lamb or lamb chops Greek style on the grill. Darn you, now you've got me craving some.

Yes Amazon has a wonderful selection of ice packs for whatever part of your body you need to ice. They even have a wrap around for migraines or nerve pain, my problem, for the neck, ice packs for the back, arm, leg, foot, they all fasten with Velcro I have quite the collection. These have become...
@Nyboy this is the plan.... I hope to order more New Yorker tomato seed and pass them around. It outdid itself for me, some of my other tomatoes produced zilch so this is definitely a good tomato for this area. I don't know how much or if I'll be able to put in much of a garden next year but...
ICE is my go to for nerve pain or swelling, it's the only thing that works for me even better than morphine or any other opiate I've been given even when in hospital. I know now to just ask for an ice pack.
I guess it's a matter of what your injury really is as to whether you use heat or ice...
