@Nyboy :hugs get yourself to the doctor as quick as you can, find out what you actually did. Treating something like this yourself may work but on the other hand it might just get worse.
One time with me I was kneeling down weeding, someone called to me, all I did was turn my head to see who it...
@Ridgerunner , years ago someone in my neck of the woods came up with a neat plan for corner posts for his raised beds. He made a mould and made corner posts out of concrete. They had slots to fit the planks, his were quite decorate but they don't have to be fancy. This way if a plank rots you...
Thanks guys, played it pretty cool, we stayed in and had mac and cheese with a green salad and a couple of buns for supper.
Yesterday was a long day had to drive down island for a radiation treatment which went well. I'm on steroids for 5 days which have really put the zing back in my step...
Going, going, going, more going and finally all gone. They came and filled boxes, and boxes and more boxes, many, many, trips up and down the stairs. I asked what their book sale supports, it goes towards education especially inner city for those that are less fortunate. It was hard letting go...
Most of mine are garden related, some are pretty dry reading but full of information. I agree with @Nyboy if you lend them out there's a good chance you'll never see them again. I had one on what to use for specific diseases of certain plants, lent it to my daughter when she was working for a...
Hubby went out and took a pic of a few Ralph's Italian pods this morning, these few are about 10' high on the vine, some are way up the magnolia around 16' maybe just maybe some will be mature enough to pick for seed before the weather turns. Victory Seed has it down as a green bean but the pod...
I just donated my extensive book library to the Rotary Club, every couple of years the have a massive book sale the proceeds go to help with their good works. These have been collected over decades, some are quite ordinary but some were very expensive and now out of print, looking on Amazon my...
I've even used burlap tied with a very fancy (salvaged) copper wire mesh bow. It was a big hit, that bow and piece of burlap made the rounds in the family for several years. You know, recycle, recycle, recycle :D.

This horrendous attack was a shock worldwide. I happened to see it as it happened on TV, this can't be real!! but it was. Our local fire department was out in force collecting donations, all our shopping malls had firemen out front with a boot at their feet, I'm happy to say they filled up...
I hate hearing news like this, we have a lot of cougars here on Vancouver Island and unfortunately maiming and fatalities are not rare, Many pets have been taken but also children along with a few adults, heartbreaking. Most of the cougars in Canada are here in British Columbia, a good...

Not yet Alex, it could take awhile, or not ;). One time it took 4 months less 4 days to get bean seed sent to me from the UK, another time it only took 5 days. Snail mail is another kettle of fish. It gets here when it gets here :). I'll let you know when it arrives.

@Zeedman , yes although smaller the PJ seeds are fatter than the Gigandes I have, also the three plants I grew were grown in less than perfect soil, I'm afraid they didn't get much attention being out of commission most of the growing season. From these three plants I collected over two...
@Zeedman had a look at my basket of PJ's just now and although a good size Gigandes are still the biggest runner I've grown. I don't have a Gigandes handy to show a comparison but here they are with a penny. I could send more but want to keep the envelope light.

....and from that one seed it is now grown by many in Canada, I believe it made it's way to Israel and at least several have it in the UK . That Bosnian sure gets around :D.
I have been given scarce seed and have sent seed back to my original source when they lost theirs. The latest is Piekny...
We've only gone to one wine tasting, it was at one of the wineries here on the island. Venturi Schulze, been awhile since we've been there. Beside their wines which are pretty darn good this is where I buy my balsamic vinegar I use on special occasions.
When there we had a tour of their...
