I have two 2 gallon continuous brew jars of kombucha. From the garden, my favorite things to ferment are radishes, cucumbers, cauliflower, dilly beans, honey fermented garlic, and peppers for sauce. For those, I just use jars with glass weights and silicone pickle pipes - they are cheap and easy!
You might think you see blowing snow when you look out my window at midday today, but really it is increased privacy from the neighbors, decreased risk of UV radiation, winter moisture, and hassle-free mulch, all in one!

I've been using my Hungarian Heart's for canning, and they are not juicy tomatoes. But you are right...
I like Federle (super productive) and Amish Paste (literally tastes like tomato paste) for traditional paste tomatoes, as well as Hungarian Heart (an oxheart tomato that is meaty and low in liquid/seeds).
