I really see no reason to spray. The tree looks great- and the peaches even better. It is my understanding that nothing will stop fire blight. I have had those trees for years, and have never sprayed. Enjoy your beautiful peaches!
I inherited the Squeezo. Truly a life changing event- compared to the old food mill (which I did love.) If you are doing a lot of tomatoes, it is very fast and easy. Mine has all metal parts and is not difficult to clean. When I made elderberry jelly, I kept the seeds in.
I really hope the moose are eating your potatoes, Thistle...because if its deer, I am in trouble! Our potato field is a favorite spot for the local deer population. So far, the worst they have done is trample a few of the plants. Hoping this pattern continues and I don't have to check back...
I have never sprayed mine... so far so good. Our spring weather was kind of crazy. One of my trees only has a few peaches, the other many more. Of course, I love eating them, but I think they look absolutely beautiful on the tree. Very happy I planted fruit trees!
Thanks for the tips! When I opened up one of them with my nail, it seemed like the seeds were the size of morning glory seeds-not very tiny. I will wait until the plants are dying, as you suggest- before peeking at them again.
Love, love, love them! My first yellow one is opening, as we speak. Not many flowers that offer that much color and fun- for so little effort! And on sale, even better!
I swear they grow several feet per night! We had our first one, steamed last night. I thought I was buying 2 cuke plants, and ended up with one zucchini. Surprise!
Always been tempted... I think it would work better if you rubbed the leaves on your skin. The nasty bugs around my house would not be deterred by a citronella plant!
I know we have talked about this before...but I can't seem to find the thread. After our potatoes bloomed this year, quite a few of them developed little round fruit (above ground). I have never had this happen before. Can I save those seeds and grow my own seed potatoes?
I was surprised when I cut down my mildewed bee balm, it came back and bloomed again and looked fine. Just couldn't stand that awful mess, and surprise!
I have a foodsaver, as well. This is a gadget I can do without. I find using regular baggie type bags, to be just as useful. I l love canning and freezing, just not a fan of the sealer.
