Help Identify Caterpillar On Passionflower Vine

Well, we ended up with a lot of these: ... and then a ton of these flying around, mating, and (assuming) laying eggs: The GF is still struggling with how she wants to proceed.

    Cursed Crooked Cucumber

I ended up just pulling it / breaking it apart in the middle, which released it from it's cage. ;)

ME: "Hey GF, why are you putting a cage around those cucumbers?" GF: "It will help them grow better." Cucumber:

Help Identify Caterpillar On Passionflower Vine

We've got a Passionflower vine that is getting devoured by these guys. Any ideas what they are? They only seem to be going after the Passionflower vine, and nothing else in the garden / yard. Once we figure them out, we'll determine if it's safe to feed them to the chickens, and then how to...

Since we seem to still be getting a lot of new people without the Location field filled in...

I totally feel your frustration and concern. I too wish everyone would enter their locations. Making the field required is definitely a recurring request on all my sites, and the perfect answer is always missing :( After years of discussion, opinions, debate... and even some experimentation...

    Fixing up an Old Lawnmower

Funny you should mention that... I had actually bought a bottle of it and added it to my gas and engine oil! I'm a huge fan of this youtuber and got the idea of seafoam from him:

    Fixing up an Old Lawnmower

LOL, give the wild oat a couple of weeks and it will get dry and tan. Right now all the hills and mountains are SUPER green with it, but once we stop getting rain, it quickly dries up and becomes a big fire hazard! I'm in a pretty temperate (and almost ideal) climate in the SF Bay Area. I'm in...

    Fixing up an Old Lawnmower

I have a Montgomery Ward lawnmower my Dad bought... at least 30 years ago, probably more. I've been using it as my "weed lawnlower" for the past 10 years. It has run surprisingly well during those years I've owned it, even though I've not taken care of it properly. Each Spring when I pull it...

@nifty and other staff appreciation thread... :)

SUPER sorry for the inconvenience. Our server company said they were doing "upgrades", but when the process was done, everything started going south... and it took a while for them to find / fix the problem. Hopefully everything is good now!

Where to find the search button/bar

Thanks for posting this AND especially for the screenshot! Search is very important and should show all the time, on any device... so we're looking into this. @Artichoke Lover which device / model are you using?

    Preview?

Ya, it's a bit different than before (the company that creates the software made the change recently). The "separate" preview has it's pros and cons for sure.

@nifty and other staff appreciation thread... :)

:hugs I stop by quite often, but am usually just browsing, or doing admin-type stuff in the background. Y'all are just too kind. Your words and actions (especially those that are supportive and helpful to others) are GREATLY appreciated!!

Tiny Buggies On Sunflowers & Webs?

As part of my chicken grazing frame experiment on BYC, I planted a few BOSS (black oil sunflower seeds) to grow in the house. They've actually been doing pretty decently inside. ... except we just noticed a ton of what looks like "webbing" and tiny buggies. I'm guessing some kind of spider...

    Confessions - Persimmons

I'm in the East Bay too, so there's a really good chance the same squirrels would be going after our fruit too! They definitely decimate our pears, etc. :( In some ways that sounds like FOREVER, but in other cases, it comes and goes so quick! I'm definitely going to have to get at planting a...

    Confessions - Persimmons

Is this specific to the American ones? I've had the Japanese ones out on my counter for over a week, and they still taste good.
