@flowerbug
I don't have pods yet. The Spotted Pheasant seeds in the photo are from the sample you sent me. I separated the patterns, left two seeds of both for comparison, and planted the rest.
Seeds on the left - I have 4 plants which grow as a bush.
Seeds on the right - I have 3 plants, one...
@flowerbug, I have one very brave climber from Spotted Pheasant seeds, variant on the right.
The plant has released a few runners that are already taller than me, so they are more than 1.8 meters.
This is the flower of this Pheasant. The wings are white, the rest are slightly pink but it...
I started taking pictures of the pods.
Didieji Žalimai - bush wax from Lithuania.
Mongeta del Ganxet de Mata Baixa de Viladrau - bush bean from Catalonia, Spain.
I once wrote that I received a lot of local bean varieties from Basque Country. My mistake. I mistook the coasts of Spain. The...
Shipments from outside the European Union are collected by my friend in England. Shipping directly to Poland is currently too risky due to customs regulations. Hope this will change in the future. So far, all parcels from the US and Canada have reached London an later to me without any problems...
I made these supports from wooden poles, mostly maple ones. Now I plant 4-5 common beans and 2 runner beans next to them. Before, I had planted more, but it was getting a terrible thicket and I invited various fungal diseases in this way.
Wow, I thought Dakota Bumble seeds only come in the three colors I have. Of course, I would like the original seed pack from Prairie Road Organics. I'm happy to send you something back.
@meadow, I planted all Dakota Bumble colors (black, white and motley à la Jacob's Cattle) in separate rows.
There was only one white seed in the sample I got from Great Lakes Staple Seeds. Last year, I planted it at home in a pot, and now I had a dozen seeds at my disposal.
A few of my other beans.
Tuvagliedda Nera
Tuvagliedda Rossa
Bubblegum
Cranberry Flieder
Jack In The Beanstalk
Fox Family Greasy
Dakota Bumble (black seeds) is the first to bloom.
@flowerbug, I planted all the beans you sent me. That's how Yed grows.
I noticed that Spotted Pheasant seeds had two mottling patterns, so I planted them separately.
@BeanieQueen
It is a systemic fungicide, in the form of a powder, for treatment on dry or in the form of water suspension. In Poland it is called Funaben.
@Boilergardener
I first soak the seeds in a fungicide and then put them in a box with moist paper towels. I plant them in the ground when the sprouts appear.
My Frost seeds, which the @saritabee sent me, germinated 100%. These were the rest of the seeds from the Frost sample she once received from @Bluejay77 as network bean.
For now, the plants are growing without any problems and in a moment they will start climbing poles. Maybe they are already...
@heirloomgal
This year I have planted Floreta and Wachtelbohnen aus Unterfranken, so I will be able to send you more seeds in the fall. The other beans you mentioned, I still have some seeds left, so don't worry too much :)
It was the last cool night, around 3 C, the next ones a bit above 10 C. During the day an average of 20 C. On Friday I take a vacation and start transplanting beans.
Unfortunately, I won't have any lima beans this year. Due to my various obligations, I have no place for it. I'll fix it in 2023. Funny, this season hasn't really started yet, and I'm already thinking about the next one :)
@Bluejay77
Right, you sent me Ocean View seeds and I have grown this bean in the 2020 and 2021 seasons. In 2022 I will have it too. I choose the bluest seeds for sowing.
Ocean View 2020
This variety is not quite stable, there were new segregations every time. This year I sowed seeds that...
@Bluejay77
Before transplanting seedlings, I give nitrochalk in a dose of 100 g / 10 m2. This is for starters, before root nodules form and the beans start taking nitrogen from the air.
The network beans have 100% sprouted. The Flowerbugs too :-) This year May is quite warm, so they grow in a foil tunnel. They are covered with fleece at night.
After May 15, I will start transplanting. The weather forecasts are promising and the places are almost prepared.
