I’m curious about your bean poles. How do you keep them upright? Are they buried in the ground or attached to a base plate. I always have to scramble around with string for my pole beans. Usually it’s something last minute when I can wait no longer for something for them...
They are awesome! I love them! I have to pay over 4 bucks a pound for them here or maybe that’s a 2 pound package. I forget.
They do make good refried beans and they are also good cooked just like you would a pinto. They are more creamy than pinto and much lighter in color sort of like great...
Wish I could send u guys about 10 degrees.
Daytime temps running 103 to 106
At midnight last night it was 88
We’ve had several back to back daytime temps over 100. It’s been quite awhile since we’ve had nice temps.
Captain Picard is the only one I’ve ever heard drinking Earl Grey. I don’t believe I’ve ever tried it. Probably because I drink Ice tea. I don’t drink anything hot except chocolate.
Yes, make sun tea all summer!
I use a lot of cold brew. Raspberry Zinger is my favorite followed by peach tea. Once in a blue moon we make hot brewed loose leaf tea. I don’t use anything in my tea, just unsweetened tea.
I don’t care for any of the commercially made teas.
Ice Tea
Oh I gotcha. I’m old too. I wasn’t thinking about music cassettes I guess. I remember talking about them when they first came out. I said that would never last.
I feel like I just had a Duh moment. Hshahaaa!
One of my bean projects. I’ve had some success growing Appalachian Beans starting them in the middle of July. A friend taught me this trick and it’s really helped me.
This is Grey Eyed Greasy Runner obtained from Remy. It’s a very pretty bean, well at least, it’s pretty to me.
@Zeedman
I have 4 MN 13 and 4 Polecat cowpea sprouts potted up.
I couldn’t resist so I put 6 of the MN 150 in a damp paper towel.
I’ll be container growing the way I have for the last couple years. I can keep them waist level so it’s easier for me. I did most of my tomatoes this way and...
Yes, I remember FlipTx very well. That’s amazing to get 3 crops in 1 year. Our heat is one reason for the late planting as I’ve had a bit of success growing Appalachian beans starting the seed around this time. I learned the trick from our friend George.
Oh btw, I was also able to get a couple...
I didn’t grow bush. They were Tennessee Cutshort Pole. I don’t know how many. I shared them with some friends and I put about 50 in the freezer. I’m only guessing, but a little over 100. I did a summer/fall grow out planting on July 18. Was able to harvest way before having to worry about frost...
I grew 3 last year for a seed saving endeavor. I had a couple buckets of them. I’ll be transferring these into 3 maybe 4 buckets. I Had good luck last year with my bucket beans, so it’s mostly an experiment. Last year was for seeds, this year for fatback and leather britches.
