I hope you do! After canning, let the flavors mingle for few weeks before opening a jar for eating.
I don't have brown mustard so I just double up on yellow mustard.
Canned over 20 jars of mustard today! We eat a lot of Dijon style mustard so I make it and can it. The recipe is so simple and it is so delicious.
You maybe wondering "why so many jars?"
We love this mustard and I use it in salad dressings, egg salads, potato salads, sandwiches, burgers, even...
I made pasta tonight. I used home canned pasta sauce and it was amazing! It's seriously like taste of summer in a jar. I always heard that but didn't know what it meant until tonight.
I am so looking forward to more garden fresh tomatoes!
We have a thinking time instead of time out. I make them think about what they did and when the time is up (as many minutes as their age) they come back and explain to me what they did, why it was wrong, they say sorry, clean up/fix what they broke, ect. It has worked well and lately I have been...
Another rainy Sunday here so couldn't do much outside. Which is fine because I really have been neglecting proper nutritional meals for my family. DH took kids to Lowes to buy supplies for a goat shelter so I took that time to bake bread, make waffles, tomatoes soup from dehydrated cherry...
For potatoes, sweet potatoes, hot peppers, winter squash, summer squash, okra, soybeans, melons, some herbs I have my tried and true varieties that I love and plant each year. I am still searching for that perfect sweet bell or non bell colorful pepper(s) and a hybrid cherry that we will all...
Peeked at my garlic from the car window and it's looking good. A neighbors dog likes to come play with our dog and she likes to lay in my garlic bed. Must be a cosy place.

I also bought pelleted seeds for carrots this year so I don't have to thin them. I hope they grow because my kids picked them for their...
I feel your wife's dislike for garden grown carrots. My hard clay soil not only give me stubby carrots but for some reason they don't taste all that good. Trying another variety this year. Fingers crossed they will be good.
Well, we did it. Put down a deposit for two doelings that will be coming to our homestead sometimes in March. The seller is very knowledgeable and will be available for any newbie goat owner questions I may have. Which will be a lot 😂.
She has registered nigerian dwarf goats and registers all...
I used to get up that early to study when I was in college. Living in the dorms, it was impossible to find a quiet place to study! I went to bed around 8, got up at 2 and studied until 6, took a nap from 6 to 7 and got up and went to class. I'm glad to be done with that tho 😂. I love my sleep!
Didn't take a picture but we finished putting up the garden fence. The entire space is 50'x100' with two gates. We tried gardening without a fence last year and while deer left most things alone, our dog ate a lot of our sweet and flint corn :(. She got fat too! 😂
Our thought is to keep our...
