    pulled the trigger today

We just ordered a new dishwasher together with the new kitchen yesterday, and here's everyone getting theirs out? :idunno For me it's the first time in my 40 years old life to have one in the house! We'll see how we like it or not. Personally I don't like drinking water from glasses that come...

Jen's old and new Dutch garden 2019

Finally got round to do somethin in the new garden this weekend! I've weeded the vegetable patch, planted 5 TPS plants from last year's tubers, sown some capuchin peas and planted a few potatoes. Also pulled out some heavy tiles and shovelled out almost 5 inch of sand to find soil. Discovered...

What are You Eating from the Garden?

@Trish Stretton I inoculated them in July which is around the beginning of summer, it was quite hot and dry already. The logs were fresly cut 5 or 6 weeks prior to inoculating and had been lying in a sunny spot for quite some time, not ideal. The norm is to let the logs die out some 4 weeks, if...

    Indigo Bunting and window strike!

They are looking great! I tried to find a good collection of the pretty bird in my country, this is the best one I found: https://nl.pinterest.com/mijnwarentuin/vogels-in-nederland/ We also have goldfinches, they aren't common, but not rare. The green parakeets in my link are not native, they...

    Indigo Bunting and window strike!

Wow they are pretty! We don't have them over here. My favourite local bird is the blue tit, a very lively insect eating bird.

    Windmills of Holland

In my area it would be at least 1M, probably more. This is an hours drive away in a less popuated part of the country, houses and land are a lot cheaper there!

    Windmills of Holland

So on my way to work I see this windmill without blades on the edge of a small forrest. Today I saw it's for sale! The mill itself is small, so there's an extra building for more livingspace. If I had the money i'd love to live there!
