    I agree, actually you can get"fertilizer burn" if you over feed beans. I usually prepare my soil well, but not over rich, and let them do their thing.

    That is Exactly how we always do it!! Now our strong SIL does the muscle work. This is the method that has always worked best for us. Our tomatoes are not that size by a long shot.. so much rain we only managed to get a few planted before the ground got too wet, and stayed that way!
