The water leak is now all fixed!! Had to replace many other plumbing parts in the house due to sand and dirt in the water lines. But... now my garden is almost good as new..
Here are some comparison photos I made.

Putting artificial turf back in place
Finished...
Well, I had just planted some low water use plants in that area, so, I will attempt to put it back the way it was. I have a pathway of artificial turf in the front yard, so I am limited a bit by the pathway I made years ago.
My husband woke up at about 2:00am on Sunday, he heard the sound of water running through the pipes... Went out to find our front yard ankle deep in water, and a nice stream of water running down our street as far as we could see!!
He told me to prepare my garden for "demolition." Well, I...
I have been slowly replacing my "English Country " garden plants with less thirsty plants. I used to have such a cool green garden...
I loved my dichondra growing between the flagstones on the path to the front door.
From 2007 (back when water bills weren't so high)
This is from 2010 when I...
@Pulsegleaner Gosh, maybe if we put our two native soils together, we might be able to grow something... Native soil here is so alkaline it literally fizzes when you put vinegar on it! I do raised beds or pots and use Miracle Grow Moisture Control Potting Soil. I LOVE that stuff!! I add it to...

You are so right!! I did something quite wonderful with what would have gone in the compost pile!! I have been planting the root ends of green onions.. and they make whole new green onions!! Of course, the ones that are now in full sun are pretty "stressed out." But the ones in...
Pulsegleaner, your profile doesn't say what zone you are in, but maybe like me, it is FIGHT to keep things alive. My husband tells me "Heidi, you try to have a better garden than God in the Sonoran Desert." And he is right, I want a nice green garden in 100+ temperatures for months at a time...
Here is my potato harvest... I know they are very small. But... I am surprised they grew at all. I got all these from five or six potatoes that sprouted in the bin.
I spoke too soon... There are roots today on the cuttings in water!! NEATO!!! Now the problem will be keeping them WET enough here in the Sonora Desert!! I just might keep them in a pot.
Yep... The coop and potting shed are under a huge pine tree. so for most of the day they are both in the shade. Chickens don't do well in the direct sun here in the desert.
Last week as I was driving down the street, I saw two doors with a sign that said "Free Doors, Please Take."
So that is just what I did. One will become the new door on my "potting shed" next to the Chicken coop. I still have to put on the hinges, and hang it. Here it is, I wish I had taken a...
Well, so far... I don't see any roots forming on the cuttings in water. But... they look fresh and wonderful. I do have some cuttings in potting soil, they look like they will make it. I am hoping to be able to add this herb to my herb garden once they get a decent root system going. Thanks...
I didn't notice this section before... I just posted this under Herbs, probably should have put it in here...

Yesterday, a friend brought me a big bag of Vietnamese Mint. We were making Spring Rolls. We really used very little of the mint. And not wanting to waste it, I thought I could attemt to root it. Does anyone know if it will root like regular mint? I attemted to look on the web, but I am not...
