The coneflowers have started to bloom in my flowerbeds and that makes me happy! This is Magnus, and this year I added a couple Sombrero salsa red, Sombrero flamenco orange and double scoop mandarin. I’m so happy with them. I planted the Magnus pinks last year so this is their first full summer -...
Hi!
The rhubarb is already in that spot and has been for years. It’s right next to a sprinkler head that’s at the edge of the lawn so gets more water than where I’d like to put the lavender.
You’re right about the annuals being great in the garden - I am growing veggies in patio containers until...
About half/half — we have a good greenhouse here that has good prices on petunias and other filler annuals so I buy some of those. I can only start so many!
Ok... new design idea... veggie/fruit graphics are just ideas for planting... not definitive, or complete list. I may put berries in a bed and put zuc on garden edge...
.... or berries on outside edge.
Yes, I’m a crammer ... Ha! Hey, i figure, the more the merrier...!? :)
Last year the sink planting wasn’t really very organized, and I didn’t like how it grew in. Last year, it was more of a jumble of the left over odds and ends of triple- and four-pack annuals. This year I went with a more...
Here are a few of the things I’m growing this year... I can’t wait to have a true veggie garden again! It’s been several years of just growing in patio pots — while i love having the fresh yummies right on the patio, I can’t wait to have more growing space!
Cucumbers and marigolds, and...
They were Toulouse... a breeding pair. But :( we got home just after dark, after driving to/from grammas memorial in December, and the coyotes had got them just before we got home and could get them in the barn for the night. i cried............
The dust can be a pain, for sure. The plants by the yard do get dusty so I hose them off every couple weeks. We live by a shared gravel driveway and that dust is a pain too. Last year keeping the flowers nice was impossible thanks to the geese. Mash central! The plants that were in last year...
I couldn’t leave it alone... put the stepping stones in (crap, those were heavy!!!), widened the bed a bit more, added new drip-line to the new space, and planted some more flowers. This eve I’ll mulch.
Thanks @digitS' and @ninnymary! I enjoy it. It’s fun to dress up for fall and Christmas too. As you can see, I still have the Christmas lights on the roof. o_O Wasn’t so noticeable when I use white lights. But the colored ones really stand out. I wasn’t too happy with the colored lights though...
That’s so fun!!! We have a pond that has a waterfall and they take baths in the splash, and even perch on the rocks. I love watching that! Today while I planted flowers at the coop I had one that kept hanging around me, waiting, watching.... she would perch on the little cable for the strand of...
Yes, same here! Those pesky Rufus boys are the reason for 5 feeders this year. We had three males stake claim on the feeders and it was crazy on the patio. I put out a couple more feeders and that kept them too busy zooming around and the others were able to enjoy. I do looove them though - even...
:D well, I do have a friend here that says it’s her home away from home and thanks me for the upgrades when I make changes! But since I prefer chickens over people, no chance of a B&B here anytime soon. :p
