My first time planting Maestro Peas. have a 4'×8' raised bed with two rows of peas. One row 12" inward from each side leaving 24" between the two rows. I think you're saying I should stake them. Not sure what you're saying about pinching back or where to pinch back.
Dan
Planted maestro Peas couple weeks ago. 2" high now and doing well.
The seed pack states this variety produces 30" vines, can be grown with or without staking.
Debating if I should stake or not. Wondering if a high wind could blow them over or not. Has anyone grown this variety before or any...
I have a few onions in containers I planted last fall. Over half them have bolted. Haven't harvested any yet because still green and standing tall. I know bolted onions need to be harvested within a month because they won't store as long. Do the bolted onions need to be kept dry during this time...
I see what your saying, miss cutting a few flowers and end up with early growth. It's really hard getting them all, so just concentrate on the larger flowers.
I'm getting lots of flowers about 200 a week Im cutting off. Plant not transplanted outside yet but am in hardening off stage. Guess I...
I'm trying to take all this information in little by little lol. It may take some time to sink in. New at trying to grow onions still after two years.🤔
What will work for me?
Are you saying walla walla onions would be best for me?
If that's the case I will try it for overwinter this fall.
I have...
I hear you, Haven't grown any candy onions yet. I'm learning myself so better me not recommending anything lol.
My second year doing onions.
I've only planted onions sets last two years. I've heard planting by seeds less likely to bolt. Just wanted to try myself to see the outcome. First year...
I'm looking to overwinter onions from seed this fall. I thinking the recommendations for starting seeds is late August, and transplanting early October in zone 7a. I think I'm in a short-day veriety zone.
Any recommendations?
I'm confused,
Need more detailed information.
Are you saying, yes pinch all flowers off, or not?
Or if pinching upper most crotch from main stalk or other branches also.
Have a lot of flowers coming from lots of side branches that's upper most crotch also.
I have 6 Bell Pepper plants 7 weeks old, 7" tall in flowering stage. Lots of flowers, main stems size of a pencil.
Two-three more weeks before transplant outside.
I have read keep flowers pinched off until two weeks after transplant.
The 2 week delay is to allow the plant to get over transplant...
Update:
Bell peppers starting to look little better now.
I'm doing a soil moisture test to maybe tell when to water. With my finger in soil to first knuckle feels dry.
If push moisture meter in soil 1-1/2 to 2" into soil reads moisture level at 2-3. If push meter in soil 3" moisture reads 5-6...
Nice to have the extra space to do that. I did go back and add another half cup to the bell peppers which made up 1-1/2 cups total each container. The up-take of water absorption was slowing on the last half.
The water needed for plants is usually .62 gallons per square foot.
My 8" pot is...
By the way I did a little experiment after I watered this morning. I took a spare pot like bell peppers are in taped drain holes up filled with 1 cup water and measured one half inch. So I may need to water with another cup water, but I don't want to over water. 8" diameter pot x 8" deep but...
