    Margali's 2019 Garden

Well I'm super tired. Got a 1/2 cubic yard of veggie mix soil from local place and loaded into the garden by myself. That was hauling approx 1,000lbs around to the backyard. I love having a pickup. :) I planted the orange and apple tree. I still need to plant the blueberry. Some pictures...

    Margali's 2019 Garden

I just counted the fence boards left over from the repairs. I think I have enough for a 5'x2'x1' garden bed once I trim the rotted ends. :) I all need to do is get a couple packs of the 2' long landscape stakes and I will have a big raised bed for this year.

The fruit wall... forerunner of the European greenhouse

This is a really neat article I stumbled across about Mediterranean fruit production in Europe before greenhouses. https://www.lowtechmagazine.com/2015/12/fruit-walls-urban-farming.html

Henless, thanks for reply. First picture on page 1 is a shot of all the utilities marked out from 1call. I've been cautious cause telcommunication companies tend not to bury to depth required by code. My containers are half 55gal food grade barrels. They are uv stabilized for outdoor storage...

    Margali's 2019 Garden

Update: flower bed has all sod removed and cardboard down for past week or so. The three wicking barrels for trees and blue berries are setup with the autofloat bucket. It has been raining non-stop so progress is slow. To Do: Bury 1/2 irrigation line across yard from tap on the house. Level the...

    Seed starting indoors

What do people use as for germination and transplant death rate estimate if the package doesn't say? This is the first time I've tried to start seeds indoors. I'm aiming for two plants in of each pepper variety. Do you think germinating 10 seeds is enough? I started them on 1/28 with paper towel...

    High Speed at Last!

As an example, if I buy Frozen on Amazon prime, I get English, English for the hearing impaired subtitles and that's it. The DVD has those plus French with French subtitles in Spanish with Spanish subtitles. so the DVD version is useful for language practice but the Amazon prime version is not.

    Margali's 2019 Garden

Insomnia presents... the garden! I modeled it and geo-located it in SketchUp so shadows are mostly correct. The trees are 6' tall above the pots and the shorter pot is 2' tall dwarf blueberries. I think I will have enough sun for the garden beds (blue barrel halves) considering I'm on the gulf...
