    High Speed at Last!

We have netflix, amazon prime, and youtube. We don't miss cable. Between netflix and amazon we get plenty of stuff for us and the kids. WARNING: If you purchase movies on amazon prime, you usually just get the english language track vs DVD english, french, and spanish are usual. Frustrating...

    Need a small water pump

This pump we have used for a different project would work. I would recommend setting your tank at highest elevation of grade on a 2ft pedestal with the pump. That way you aren't fitting head pressure issues. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001FAA5Y/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Margali's 2019 Garden

Thanks for all the comments and ideas. I called the telecom and received email stating the lines were 6- 12" below grade so if I break a line digging up sod at 3" deep it is on the telcom. But it would be a major pain. I'm only de-sodding this area because it will be in-ground wildflower bed. I...

    Indoor gardening

The mini-live roses you get at valentines day grow well in small container. I've also kept rosemary "tree" and basil alive. African violets do well inside.

Hard Freeze TX Gulf Coast = Chaos

There is a freeze plan at our site and most sites. The problems is draining or drip legging literal miles nonheat traced utility lines. Something gets missed, the valve itself cracks or you don't have quite enough flow, etc.

Hard Freeze TX Gulf Coast = Chaos

So there will be a hard freeze this weekend along the coast. Wondering how much piping at the plant will burst. Last plant looked like a sprinkler system when it warmed up. Makes me glad I didn't buy any of the fruit trees already leafed out and flowering at Home Depot. Right now I only have a...

What not to do during a divorce

You were in the right. Your husband just broke the law and committed fraud by purchasing vehicle using the current truck as a trade-in. Ask your attorney but you probably should send a copy of the restraining order to dealership. Helps your case for divorce and theirs if he doesn't return the...

    Margali's 2019 Garden

This tool goes thru the roots so quick! Here is weekend stopping point. I'm out of cardboard for mulch. I also have to keep in mind how much sod the garbage guys will take. And repottted roses with better drainage.

    Margali's 2019 Garden

It's slow going. Renting a motorized sod cutter will blow the budget. I'm leary of cutting too deep with edger cause telecommunication guys are notorious for not properly burrying their cables.

    Margali's 2019 Garden

This is about 1.5 hours of work. The cut line in the grass will be the edge of the mulch and the sticks are were the flower bed will bbe.

Any good varieties for shallow container beds in zone 9? We eat them raw or steamed with honey butter.

    Margali's 2019 Garden

I have my garden plan, I think. The available space is about 14' deep swath along back fence line. All containers cause 1) it's a rental, 2) the 7' utilities easement is chock full of communication, natural gas, and electrical lines, and 3) it should be easy to fence off if/when we get dogs...

    Hi Again!

    Hi Again!

I was on the forum before but life got in the way. My only gardening to date has been keeping my bird of paradise alive for 8 years, 3 states, and 11 moves. So I am starting over from scratch in new climate (Baytown, TX). I hope to stay in current house for several years but everything will...

    Flowers or Weeds?

I am trying to clean up the flower bed along my house. It's was massively overgrown last year with tall grass. I've got all the grass pulled but I don't know if these should go too. Wild carrot? It had a really long taproot. I'm pretty sure this was planted intentionally but I don't know what...
