Yesterday I deadheaded poppies and pansies. Pulled some weeds (like everyone else) Why can't plants grow as fast as weeds.
We've had rain of and on for 3 days so not much work in the garden.
I've got poppies but they are pink and some are the mop head. Not Calif. poppies.
It is to late to plant the seed now for the ones I have. They need to be seeded in the fall so the will come up in the spring. I'm in zone 6b

IN NE Ok. SAC grows wild in the ditches in the woods. Everywhere!!! I didn't realize how bad it was till my was blooming and I started seeing more as we drove around. seen it in Mo. too.
I have mine growing over a shed. Cut it back every fall.

We have one tree growing 2 yr. old. I did get about6 cherries last yr. but the cardinals
got them!!!
We'll be dead before they get big enough to produce enough cherries for a pie!!

Yes that's how I do my winter sowing. I haven't started yet for the same reasons!
I had good luck and did tomatoes. The tomatoes we did turned out good until it got to hot here.

When living in Colo. we had our own cherry tree and got lots of cherries from it made lots of pies
and froze a lot. DH loves cherry pies!!!

I winter sowed them 2 yr. ago with great success. Had lots of Monarch cats.
Such a great experience I'd never seen Monarch or any butterfly from egg to butterfly...
