Is it too late to plant beans in the more northern areas of the US (Midwest)? Just planted about another half pound of seed and I'm wondering if they're going to make it to produce dry seed.
I had already looked into doing online courses with Prescott. They are available but not for freshmen. And even then I would need to attend orientation day on campus each year. Unless I can find a good "junior\community" college in which I can do lessons online, I am tempted to skip that step...
I am indeed talking about the University of Prescott in Arizona. And the tuition isn't so expensive it's a private school, but more of because the population of Prescott is so small that they need to charge a lot (or at least that's what I'm thinking). I've already done some talking with an...
Thanks for clarifying. So any basic classes that I would take at a junior college could count towards a degree in...lets say botany.
Managed to get nearly ten New bush bean varieties from the local seed library.
I am aiming for a bachelor's degree. So you're saying that I should start off in a smaller community college and transfer to the University of Prescott later to save money. Wouldn't that college need to be in the state of Ohio? And wouldn't it need to offer the same courses that I want to take...
Thanks for the warm welcome backs everybody. I've just been gone having nongardening related adventures for a while. (although I did work on a lettuce field on the quechan reservation in southern CA for a short period of time.) I'm still hopping around every once in a while and planting where I...
Landlord won't let me make actual garden so I'm just using the flower beds. The neighbor let me plant her garden though, that's were I have my other 50 beans (all topcrop). I don't think that the landlord would allow potted plants inside, being allergic to dirt and just about everything else.
I am moved in town (downtown Mansfield Ohio) although I've lived in Yuma, Arizona and Winterhaven, California in the country for a while. I'm not in college yet but am trying to get in by this upcoming spring. The college that I want to go to is the university of Prescott Arizona. I still...
Finally managed to get back into gardening with nearly 100 bean plants in the ground. Topcrop and some mixed beans from Sea K. Hoping to acquire some more bush bean diversity here soon in the hopes of starting a landrace. My new hometown has a seed library so I'll probably check that out...
Unfortunately not in a place that I can garden, in the middle of the woods and parents don't like to cut down trees. Planted three hills of squash in the middle of trees which did fine then got devoured by big slugs. Ducks love it though, big stream.
Glad to be back, will catch up more when I...
Aw shucks! Thanks everybody!
As for were I've been -
NyBoy is right. I did spend two months helping @flowerweaver at her farm, it was all kinds of fun and a great learning experience. (BTW flowerweaver, I forgot to tell you that I was experiencing 36* weather once I got back to OH, just in the...
Sorry to hear, GWR.
When it comes to natural things - look up Dr. Maxwell Gerson (sp?). He is long dead, but has treated a number of cancer patients successfully using diet. I can't remember the specifics of the diet.
Prayers.
I happen to be a tick magnet myself, so... :sick Those things freak me out.
Talking about guineas we just picked up 20 keets a few weeks ago. Fun and awesome birds to have, but definitely not something that you want to keep with close neighbors. We've owned them before and had six of them -...
