I can't possibly begin to comprehend why we would import dogs from S. Korea, It's insane.
I've never understood why people here have problems with eating dogs and cats - they make as good of a meat as any other animal. Are we really that clingy (right word?) I do have to say that I've got a...
A hoe, a pair of gardening gloves, and a big bottle of cheap vinegar to spray on them.
Well, it would be impossible to spray a hoe and gardening gloves at them. :D You know.
I think of that each an every time I walk out and see the huge cornfields all over the place. Thing is that Monsanto and their affiliates aren't interested in what the general public wants, what they're interested in is money.
I would personally be more than happy if I could grow my own corn...
:welcome Hennible!
I would agree that GMOs may have some benefits, thing is -
1. They're everywhere.
2. We're using biotechnology for the wrong reasons and in the wrong ways. We're also drastically over-using it. To explain my reasoning behind this I would have to write a book which I don't...
"Healthiest meat ever produced in America?" That was so funny that I forgot to laugh. Here's one video, I don't consider it worth the effort to post more.
Major,
We're using GMO to refer to the insertion of foreign genes into different species - (as an example) injecting bacteria DNA into corn. What you're talking about with the corn and wide diversity of our food crops is just the result of hundreds / thousands of years of selective breeding -...
Source for the bolded sentence? (I could ask for more than that but will leave it at one sentence at least for now.) Preferably peer-reviewed and unbiased. And by unbiased I mean research that is (1.) not carried out by Monsanto and other chemical companies that work in the general area of...
So.... you're saying that we just just sit around and do nothing about that?
And do you mean "science to make our lives better." I for one believe that science is good, but has the potential to be taken to far - and often is.
My family is as poor as the dirt in an industrial field, and we still manage to make 90% of what we eat organic. It's a choice, and we all have the right to choose - respect that.
Lol, too bad the calender doesn't accurately predict spring for everybody. It's still about 30*F here. But Happy First Day of Spring anyway! Better enjoy it while it's here, because it will be gone before you know it.
Thank you! I've been going through a lot lately and you've just brightened up my day, I needed that! :D
It honestly drives me crazy when the only thing that people have to talk about is TV.
We sell our eggs in from the porch and have a sign in the front, I had no idea about all of these extra costs (if you sell through a farmer's market or CSA). I guess that the insurance kind of goes without saying. But the farmer doesn't get any sort of freedom to change the prices around a...
There are some vegetables for which genetic modification isn't allowed for some outside reason, at least for the moment - such as with sunflowers, because some are worried about GMO sunflowers crossing with wild species. I know this because I actually managed to keep myself together and explore...
How about you give me some proof that these are scare tactics? All that you've done so far is describe how things were raised were you worked/ in your locality. It might be true were you worked or were you live - but not everybody raised their livestock or grows there food in the same way...
