Heat Mats for starting seeds indoors

I don't use them either, but I recently started some seeds that were a couple of years old and they were just on the kitchen counter under a light. The day I cook a crock pot of chilli next to the seeds, I had a ton of them pop up. Maybe even a space heater near your seeds for a couple of hours...

    Can I tease Mary?

My son watches Alaska State troopers and they have towns like that on there all the time and they do not look like gardening towns. I could never live there. Montana would be pushing it.

    When do you start?

I am going to get started in March as soon as we get a nice day I am going to put up my hoop houses over my raised beds so the soil starts to warm up. It doesn't pay to do it now though because we are having too much snow. Hard to keep up with.

    Garden Photos, Everyone Post Some

Yes very nice. I think I am going to have to wait for the 6 inches of snow to melt before I get too serious about planting. I am going to get some stuff started to put in some hoop houses next month. I like to see someone is able to get some dirt under their nails. I get to live vicarously.

Update on my potato leafed tomato volunteer

Funny, it's like how two people with blue eyes can't have a baby with brown eyes.... but two people with brown eyes can in fact have a baby with blue eyes. Biology 101, I think it is the most interesting thing in the world.

I love the smell of garlic. I chopped some up tonight and my hands smell like garlic and I love it. I don't mind the taste either. I can just eat it. I have read that it is recommended to eat between 1/2 - 1 clove of garlic a day to help with some cancers. It is really good for stomach and colon...

What month to plant garlic in zone 7

I am with you, I have to really think about stuff before I take the plunge. I have a book the talks about a perennials garlic bed. Just moved my 4 tier greenhouse with cover into my Harbor Freight greenhouse. It is in there protecting my tomatoes. I will need to get a themometer to check the temps inside the cover. I am very excited about seeing how they do.
