Trying to decide between dining room chairs

He often uses the phrase in jest, so do I. I did not mean it in an unloving way. In his heart of hearts, my husband wants to keep the new chairs nice, but he's both very preoccupied and forgetful. And we both garden and get messy. He's really the one more worried about stains. Neither of us...

Trying to decide between dining room chairs

Our current dining room chairs are falling apart, I bought them new in 1980 (!) I've found some I like online that are on sale and they come in both fabric and leather. I'm trying to choose. Our dining room is used daily, it's not for special occasions even though it's a very nice space. I...

    Bargains Bargains !!!

I have to run our gardening clothes through the wash 2-3 before they come clean. We need to wear light colors because of the sun, but I refuse to buy anything white anymore because after a couple of wearings it becomes dingy no matter what bleach or soap I use.

    Worried

Thanks @PhilaGardener I will ask. I doubt it, at best they were able to trace the use of his gas card at 2:30 am, which makes us think he was driving around all night. He's very stubborn, so a smart phone with an app might be a way to trace him without him knowing it's true purpose. What is...

Odd things your pet has learned,

Sorry to hear about losing Chickie. That had to be hard. I've had several extra special chickens over the years and cried my heart out when they passed on. They can just be so personable and cuddley! I've told people the only difference between a chicken and a parrot is about $500! @lesa I've...

What Woman Would You Vote For?

Prior to 1861 we had Lady Liberty and Pocahontas, and since then men on the $20. Why choose? Let's just replace all US bills for the next 150 years with these great women since men got the last 150!

    Worried

Don't know yet but he was missing for nearly 24 hours, overnight, which isn't like him at all. That's a long time to be lost. Wonder how his immediate family will deal with this and his access to the car.

What is Your Favorite Knife ?

@Carol Dee my mother was a postmaster for over 25 years. She doesn't like to hear my comments. But it's not not the same service anymore. The only reason they keep mine open is the volume of packages. Everybody shops online since we are so far from everything.

Odd things your pet has learned,

Dogs can be sneaky! Gilbert is the dog that likes to play with toys, especially balls. Sullivan can't out run him, but when Gilbert is not looking, Sullivan takes all the toys and stashes them on the tippy-top of the woodpile, where no one else will go. Remember how we all gave Sullivan the...

Update: They have traced a gasoline purchase this morning, so at least he's alive. I hope this will help locate him!

Odd things your pet has learned,

@Beekissed I was very surprised and happy about the figurine, which I could never have afforded at $680! We must be two peas in a pod. We don't have any 'normal' animals. We have an emotionally needy rescue donkey that loves to kiss anyone. He even moves his lips! Without being crude, I can...

    Worried

Since we live so far away, we were unaware he was having these health issues, no one told us. We just spoke with him last week and he seemed normal. My husband is taking it hard, since their mother (97) also has Alzheimer's and is in a facility. Neither of us are sharp as tacks anymore, we...

What is Your Favorite Knife ?

Two years ago the post office in my ghost town (41 people) went to half days and we've had at least nine 'post master replacements' cycle through there, most of them in their early 20's and dumb as doornails. I cannot tell you how many important pieces of mail have shown up 3 months late, or not...

Odd things your pet has learned,

Years ago I had a pet rooster that bonded with a blind rescue sheep. We called her his 'fuzzy hen'. He would help her find her food, alert her of dangers, and ride around on her back. He was acting as her eyes! Herend's of Hungary read my blog and saw the photos and made a collectible...
