it's TRYING to snow here.... flurries today... they seem to melt off as fast as they fall. I do see a couple of bulbs up near the foundation that aren't buried too deep (ok, they're not really buried at all) HA! and they're shooting up some greenery. I call that springtime optimism! :)
i've been using buy/sell/trade group on facebook for my area. i feel a bit safer on there, since it is a bit more "public" than craigslist. just thought i'd mention it ... you might see if something like that is available for your area too, if you're looking for an alternative to craigslist.
I'm so glad I didn't have any damage. Well, excuse me .... i lost 1 shingle off the barn. Whoop... that's hardly even worth the time it took to type.
It was a crazy mess around the north end of Newman lake, too... just crazy.
So happy to come across this thread!! :) Yes, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my dear friend, Carol Dee!! :)
And, just so you know, the box no longer sits on my desk... it has actually made it as far as the dining room table, which is 5' from the DOOR! :) Tomorrow may be it's lucky start of travel day!
well, hate to say it, but i'm not a math person. :)
never have been .... surely never will be.
i think it has to do w/ dyslexia. That's my excuse, anyway. :)
October is my FAVORITE month. I love the cool nights, the changing leaves, and the clothing layers :) I could do w/out the 80 or even 70 degree days. I feel at my best when it's in the 60s or below. I'm still finding ladybugs and praying mantis out and about... it's a beautiful time of year!
It is certainly a busy time here now that I'm surrounded with family. It seems they are taking turns with who is priority for medical issues. Good grief!! :) I guess they were just saving up for when I got moved up here, and now there's no holding back.
I grew a few garden treats this summer...
i agree about good things about boring.... that was especially good around the farm and livestock. Usually when it wasn't boring, it was high-level stressful! And that's no fun! :)
Sounds like you're happy we're moving into fall, too Ridge!
Hello friends!! I'm SOOOOO happy it's the end of summer. Football pre-season games have started, 55 was our high temp yesterday, and I LOVE autumn!!
I haven't been around much here lately, and I apologize. Now that I'm living in the same state as most of my friends and family, there have been...
Awesome plantings!! Love your unique planters. I have grammas old wheel barrow ... I've been thinking about planting in it -- it already has some drainage spots :), but not sure how I want to go about it -- like, setting containers in it, filling w/ dirt, or what.
Oooh, Arm Long cuc's would be fun! Those transported me right back to age 7 when I watched them grow, harvested, and then ate them! :) I thought I saved about a gagillion seeds, but dang it, I can't FIND them!!
