I actually support the amendment. State by State laws will not work with this issue, complete nightmare for producers and consumers. People who do not trust science, government, whatever, already have a choice... buy organic. You want more organic, lobby the producers to provide more. If the...
@Pinusresinosa - I agree, looks like Color Guard, and good info you have on your site! I possibly planted my yucca too deep.
Wish I was closer to your nursery.
The friend I got divisions from said that they can take a while to get established. Hers were huge, great big flowers, 4-5 feet tall. Not positive, but I think Adam's Needle.
I had them in well draining soil, full sun, 8 YEARS! They may as well been rubber, no growth, no bloom. I finally dug...
Thanks @journey11 , yes they are pictured in order. The Chesnok Red was not red striped and I thought I was harvesting them too early, but two days of drying and they are already showing lots of red. Whew, and almost too pretty to eat! Garlics are complicated.
I will surely report after our...
It's not highly recommended, but I lightly sprayed the dirt off. We have had 6" of rain in the past 2 weeks and my clay/mud would not shake off enough to get good drying. A garlic farm here in MN cleans their bulbs and has had no issues so ...:fl I wish I could have waited for the soil to dry...
We lost ours a couple of years to flooding and I lost interest to try again, fall planting of anything is usually not my idea of a good time. But, if you like garlic, don't give up. If I can do it, believe me - I know you can!
@thistlebloom , I will have to try some shish-ka-garlic. Do you marinate them at all or just grill.
Your store garlic, do you know if it was softneck? Did you mulch after planting?
Not sure if that would make a big difference, going into frozen ground. :D
I was looking at some softneck...
Thanks @Hal , Music did make the largest bulbs, it also seems to be the most pungent smelling. It is suppose to be somewhat sweet when cooked. Will let you know!
Japan, Chesnok Red, and Music ...
Japan went a little long in the ground, a few had split, oops.
Can't wait to try some roasted!
Do you have a favorite variety to roast? I like mild.
I'm not much for cats, so @Smart Red , I can relate. Both cats we've had found us. Reluctantly, I gave in to the kids begging. They were both nice cats though, lucky for them.:D
Beautiful lilies @Nyboy , glad you finally got to see them bloom!
I'm not real fond of the increase in coyotes around here. I have seen them in the yard during the day twice now. I was not out at the time, but really makes you watch your back.
I second @digitS' requirement for statice. Easy to start from seed, and a multi-color row of them is pretty in the garden too. They bloomed for me by mid July.
I should pick some Gloriosa Daisies and see how well the hold up in water.
Most leaf diseases I have checked out for blueberries tend to look like round spots when they first start to show. Any chance that it could be water stress?
It looks like new growth...mostly? Or is it all over the bush?
