sam, i lov the decorations. i have a nephew who would love to have that wreath. and catjac just buy a little bit at a time after Christmas and slowly combine the two. at the other house i had white icicles along the roof and deck rail and mixed colors around the windows and doors
about a thousand years ago when i was first married we lived in ohio in an apartment along the river and there were water roaches in the apartment. by day i could keep them at bay but at night i could hear the cat running thru the house and then crunch, crunch, crunch as she caught and ate...
ok @baymule, if you won't make me eat cooked turnips i won't make you eat brussel sprouts, deal? and yup on the steak. we could resole our shoes on the liver she cooked. why oh why did they feel the need to dry everything out when they cooked it. and that was a rhetorical question by the way.
sumi, how scary, please keep an eye on your hand for infection. we have been covered with ladybugs for the past few days. they are looking for a warm place to spend the winter and have decided my house may just be the place
@digitS' you made my eyes leak. this is my first holiday without mom and since we will be celebrating tomorrow i sit here today alone except for so many memories
we always kept a candle in the window when i was a kid. mom said it was to welcome the Christ Child. and yes it was one of those funky plastic electric ones. i keep a led flame candle in my window too.
@baymule, when you said purple sweet potatoes you weren't kidding. that looks good, gonna have to try it. We will be having Thanksgiving on Friday this year, middle sis has to work Thursday and since this is the first holiday for us since mom passed we kind of all wanted to be together. I'm...
awww baymule, you make a great doggie cushion and i love the look on polly's face. you can tell she is just tolerating the two interlopers because she has to but she sure doesn't want to share her mama.
baymule, sounds like if we didn't have the same mama they at least knew each other really well, lol. have you ever roasted brussel sprouts in the oven. if they are big i cut them in half or leave them whole if their small, drizzle a little evoo over them, sprinkle with some salt, pepper and...

first calf heifer? she kind of has that now what? look on her face. really nice by the way and wonderful pictures. how long have you been raising limousine and especially the black?
was a good try Smart Red. oh yea, WR's cattle are special. just ask anyone who wants to raise beef cattle and gets a top price for that beautiful black steer. while heirloom, endangered, specialty and mini cattle do have their place in the whole scheme of things and will work for some folks...
i had to use a bark collar on my Emma when i was doing travel nursing because she would start to bark and not quit till i got back some 12 hours later. she and i both hated it but it was better then having to get rid of her because the guy upstairs was having a stress stroke
@majorcatfish your post made me smile, i didn't know you could cook a porkchop any way but shoe leather hard or brussel sprouts any way but mush till i got married and started cooking myself. found lots of things i actually liked after that.
so sorry for your loss, carol dee. you are in my prayers, comfort and peace to you. lost my mom this last july, she was 92. i miss her every day. feel free to vent anytime you need.
i have a visual of that @ baymule and @Nyboy and giggled, thanks. @Smart Red we have black bears all over around here and a couple of big white barky dogs keep them away from the house. had a mama bear and 3 cubs down in the creek below my house last year. honestly i was glad when they...
