I am finally getting the construction description and pictures of the greenhouse we built posted.
A description of how we built it is below, and there are some photos of the details.
We built a greenhouse from an old ‘Costco’ garage tent. We have cold winters and hot, dry summers here and...
Thank you all for your very kind comments. I will take pictures of the construction details and will post them with the step by step instructions of how we built it. This is a do it yourself project that was not particularly difficult and uses a lot of reclaimed materials.
Again, thank you...
Thistlebloom & Majorcatfish and anyone else interested,
if you are interested in how we built it step by step, we'd be happy to share the info with you. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you pictures of the construction details and step by step instructions. Our tent had been in...
Thank you all for your kind comments about the greenhouse. I'll get some pictures posted of what I've got inside. The one wall and part of the roof is solid DigitS. The wall is okay, but we are going to replace part of the solid roof with the clear acrylic this year. The trees in the back...
Thanks DigitS. I had some trouble figuring out how to post my pictures :(
Hat track is used in framing. It comes in many lengths and is about 4" wide in a square 'U' shape. It is easy to use and supports framing. The horizontal lines in the greenhouse are hat track.

I wanted to show you the greenhouse my husband built for me out of the framework from an old garage tent that we used for a wedding. The framework was good, made from steel tubing which was a surprise since the tent had not been expensive when we bought it. We bolted the framework to small...
Thanks DigitS for your response to my inquiry about peat pots.
I used them to hold my starts (which I in an over enthusiastic moment ordered too early this year!!) I am in the process now of potting the starts up into larger plastic pots. I am peeling the peat pot off the start as much as I...
Ducks4You, I used peat pots this year and am not overly thrilled. Can you let me know how you do with the paper ones? Did you have any problem with mold like I have with my peat pots? I live in a zone that gets freezing winters, so have to keep plants in pots in the greenhouse and inside...
I had mediocre results with Parks seeds last year. Some of the seeds I received were dated for the previous year. Not happy. This year I ordered from Stokes Seeds. I got great customer service, quick delivery and so far great results. I recommend Stokes to any of you who order seeds from...
Thanks Thistlebloom.
I will try some deer repellent. I will probably also plant some of the cobea behind my fence (just in case).
I agree that hungry deer will eat anything.
Thanks for taking the time to give me such a helpful answer, I will let you know how I do.
Good Gardening!
Kathie :)
Welcome from Eastern Washington State (we're the dry side, Seattle gets most of the rain). You will have lots of fun planning your new garden. This is a great forum.
Kathie :welcome
Hi,
I have got some real good looking young cobea vines. I want to plan where to put them in my yard, but we have LOTS of deer in our area. Does anyone know if the deer will eat these vines? Otherwise, I'll have to put them inside the fence.
Thanks in advance for helping!
Kathie :)
It is very heartwarming to see the outpouring of good wishes for Hoodat on this forum. I too pray for his speedy recovery and send all of you best wishes for your concern and caring.

Well, the sun has finally returned to Eastern Washington. I have been outside a lot this week, cleaning up and dreaming of the good weather to come.
I reordered my zinnia seeds because I planted them too early and didn't provide enough artificial light (woops) many of them are too leggy and...
