Surprise, surprise after getting everything in almost a month late I actually have a nice pumpkin! It was hidden in the back corner and I haven't been going in the garden much because of hornets so I didn't know it was there, so it was a very nice surprise. I'll get a picture and a weight...
With the broody hen I didn't need the heat lamp, but if you where doing them without a hen you would need the heat lamp for quite sometime.
I'm in Clarion County, but I have relatives up in Erie that we visit fairly often.

mrcman, I'm also in NW PA so hi :frow and I have a hen that is on day four for hatching chicks and last year close to this time I had another hatch with no problems, so don't count out this time of year.
Wednesday I planted my regular peas and snow peas (only about a month late, but they should be fine) and my tomato seedlings are doing well inside and as soon as it warms up again I need to start harding them off.
Sorry I didn't follow up I have one of those little tiny pumpkins and one that might be a pumpkin or pumpkin cross that is under 10 pounds but I don't know it's actual weight.
Well my white pumpkin went bad on the vine :( and I'm still debating with or not my one is a pumpkin or a pumpkin cross. But we will see If I find anymore in my jungle of a garden.
Well my one pumpkin appears to actual be a pumpkin cross (Its vine died so I harvested and got a better look), but it looks like I might have a white pumpkin growing :fl
So my one little pumpkin rotted away :( and I spent some time kill squash bugs and removing leaves covered in eggs from that plant last night but there is more today, so off to look up ways to kill squash bugs and their eggs....
I'm in, I'm growing some seeds from the volunteers from last year and some seeds I got from a white pumpkin but they could have crossed with another pumpkin so we will see what I get. I might buy seeds for pure pumpkins but we will see.
