Here are my pumpkins so far (there might be some more small ones), all as far as I know are off the volunteers:

I have one pumpkin from my voleenters that is growing outside the fence and is doing very well (half hidden in the weeds), another from the voleenters inside the fence was doing well but a chicken got in the other day and pecked two big holes in it :( . I'll try to get pictures soon.
Honestly I don't eat squash ( :hide ) I grow those for my mom who cooked them up and currently has them in the fridge until she reheats them for a meal, but I'll ask if she can tell the difference when she eats them.
They were! My only sadness is with the vines death there will be no more Yukon...
My Yukon Gold potato vines died so I harvested them yesterday
and I also harvested two 8-ball squash yesterday, earlier in the week I harvested a zucchini which got cooked yesterday as well.
I only use gloves if dealing with thorns, even then not always. They bug the living daylights out of me, I'd rather be able to feel what I'm grabbing. Even if I get dirt under my nails.
Okay I talked to my dad today and he said they make fair rose hips and he told me what he use to do to them (which I do remember so he wasn't kidding) every 3rd year or so he mowed the whole patch down to grass level and every time they grew back healthy and beautiful.
