    I found a kitten! Help?

$400 is steep! Our "Bubbles the Cat" only cost me about $200 for vet treatment and spaying if I remember correctly. I use the term "our" very loosely here. That cat belongs to Dew, or maybe it's more accurate to say that Dew belongs to the cat. Glad to hear she has a new home though. I'm not...

    Close call with a skunk

We have a skunk living somewhere nearby. A few weeks ago I found three yellow jacket nests in the ground while I was cutting the grass. I just left them alone. Sunday afternoon, I discovered that the largest one had been dug up and mostly destroyed. There's only one animal around here that's...

    New property owners again

This weekends update: Nothing was done inside. I spent all day yesterday running the new Husqvarna trimmer, cutting every weed in my path. I couldn't run the tractor over much of the property for fear of hitting something. Now I have everything down and cleared :weeeAll I need now is to get the...

Moundsville is getting close to my neck of the woods Journey. I'll be in Pleasants County next week myself.

    Summer project #2

Can you not get internet through a satellite provider? Or maybe use your phone as a mobile hot spot? Surely the Queen has some kind of options. If not...Off with their heads! ...I'm coloring as fast as I can.

    Summer project #2

I'm working on it Bay. You just have to give me time. My crayon skills aren't what they once were. When I send them to you, simply tape them to your phone ;)

    What are you canning now?

For the first time in many years we will not be canning anything from the garden. I will put up some apple sauce, apple pie filling and grape jelly though. And it may be a few years before we even plant a garden :( This year is so busy trying to get the other place finished, then next year will...

    New property owners again

Had an easy day at work today, so I took advantage of it. All of the kitchen cabinets are installed! :weeeI also cut the end panels and toe kicks out of the plywood I bought and have stained the end panels for the uppers. The kitchen is looking real good.

    Sunday Morning Surprise!

I was trying to figure out why that sow looked so round around the middle...Potbelly...makes sense now. Are they strictly pets? I don't know of anyone that eats potbelly pigs. I guess you could though. Too bad about the little one. It does happen. I've never known a farmer to cull a sow for it...

    Dews laid up a bit

The Dr. told her it could take two years or more to heal properly. She's not even allowed to sweep or vacuum. This is the woman who grabs the broom and mop as soon as she even thinks I'm going to move a piece of furniture or appliance. I've learned over the years to just move whatever it is I...

How Much Can This haul ?

Both will have similar payloads, but I have to go with the bench seat, dual headlights, larger gas tank, and dump bed.

    New property owners again

I won't lose any income, Red. I have loads of vacation time. I'm going back to work tomorrow, but I'll be local so it won't be too bad. Today, I had a few hours this afternoon so I finished installing the lower cabinets. I only have one upper left to hang, which will probably happen tomorrow...

    Sunday Morning Surprise!

Very nice! What breed is your sow? Do you have your own boar? Dew and I have raised a few pigs in the past. Mostly Landrace and Durocs. If I can convince my few remaining neighbors to lift the "no farm animals" deed restrictions I would like to get a couple of pigs for butchering.

    Dews laid up a bit

I took some of the load off of Dew. I went to the Police station and got a copy of the accident report. Saved the receipt so I can get reimbursed the $25 it cost me. I also contacted our insurance company. If you are eligible, I highly recommend USAA. They are taking care of everything as far as...

    Dews laid up a bit

Dew was rear ended by an idiot kid on Friday. She is fine, but is hurting around her neck. The car took a pretty good hit but is drivable (is that even a word?).

    New property owners again

Update time: The kitchen cabinets are 95% complete. I sanded and stained the lowers yesterday, and today I got two coats of poly on them. I still have to poly one upper and the lazy susan. The kitchen, hall, and laundry room floors are done. The laminate is down and two base cabinets are...

    Your Other Hobby (s)?

Strictly clear coat. I'm a huge fan of hand rubbed poly myself. Hickory is way too pretty to burden with anything else. Face joints will be hide glued and hand cut dovetails for all the drawers. Drawer boxes will probably be maple. Since we are big fans of country living, I'm considering using...

    New property owners again

I have no reason to move into a place like that Red. The new place is two doors down. I have a roof over my head right here. That place isn't going anywhere. Moving in half done will mean half done for too long. I'm not going to do it. I think Dew is hoping that we can have it ready sooner. If I...
