Sometimes I get discouraged at the long hours and slow progress on my shop. To keep going, I have to keep in mind what I am doing it for.
Hang in there. Things will get better.
Well, I watched the plants for a while and there were 100's of blooms, but no new pumpkins. Then, a week ago I found this. Orange pumpkins before spraying and yellow after.
The mildew pretty much done them in, though. Just a very few new pumpkins.
I've been really busy the last few weeks wearing my carpenter hat in my spare time. I've done 95% of the work by myself so far.
I have a few Amish friends coming tomorrow to help get the rafters up. I can do it myself, but it is incredibly slow. They will have it done in 2 or 3 hours.
We had our first frost last night. We left 2 windows open and the temp in the house actually went up 2 degrees. When I built this house 30 years ago, I insulated really well.
I will try the furnace soon to make sure it works okay, but to actually turn it on for heat will probably be 2 - 4 weeks...
Thanks much for the info. I've been really busy lately. I read your answer and was able to spray the plants, but forgot to get back here and reply.
These are mini pumpkins. There are lots of pumpkins and lots more blooms. Maybe I caught it in time so the blooms will produce more pumpkins.
