Forgive me if this has already been stated but...
All I have to say is....some people will spend $5 on a cup of coffee but wouldn't ever spend that on a dozen eggs that were ethically raised and fed the highest quality feed. Priorities.
I had terrible luck with Ultimate Opener last year. I don't know what happened. Early Girl did ok for me, nothing spectacular. I have some seeds left from last year and I may plant some to see if they do better. I am a huge Lemon Boy fan- always produces loads of fruit and has a nice mellow...
I usually plant about 10 Anaheims because we freeze 'green chilies' and can seasoned and unseasoned tomatoes and green chilies. They are a must every year!
Just like I've done the past few years, I am going to post what I am putting in my garden this year to keep record for next year. If you have grown any of these, what are your opinions of them?
TOMATOES
(Tried and True Varieties)
- Black Sea Man
- Bush Beef Steak
- Copia
- Golden San Marzano

I have decided to try Bush Beefsteak, Jet Star, and Supersonic. I have grown Bush Beefsteak in the past and forgot that they actually did pretty well for me but I never fertilized them. I did pretty good last year fertilizing once a week so I will see how much of a difference that makes for them!
I usually don't leave my lights on 24/7. My grandmother always tells me that tomatoes get everything they need to grow during the day and then actually start the growing process at night. Probably just an old wive's tale but it seems to work!
I have never had good luck finding a high-yielding red tomato for juicing and slicing. I live on the zone 3/4 border and usually the tomatoes don't get very big or don't produce very many. Any ideas? I usually plant the last weekend in May and harvest through September.
Hey, everyone! Winter has been very weird here this year. We started out decently cold with TONS of snow, warmed up to 40s for a few weeks, had a brown Christmas, and now we have been experiencing brutally cold temps (-40 with the windchill) and snow. I started a new job in August and have...
I have boatloads of seeds I will not be using this year. Almost all of them are tomatoes and peppers but there are a few gourds, carrots, beans, peas, and maybe pumpkins and a few other things I'm forgetting. Way too many varieties to list. PM me your address and I will send you a few varieties...
I had a request for these pictures. Copia and Black Sea Man have been incredible producers in my garden this year. Great texture, flavor, and appearance. Little to no cracking and thin skin- and great size. I'm in love!
