Hardy Kiwi Vine for those in cities and cold climates!

Actually I don't have any experience making cuttings with these plants - but given the growth of this plant I don't think would be difficult; the assumption being that if it grows roots even at half the speed as everything else it grows it will have a supportive root system in a few weeks.

    Companion Planting 2015

I'm curious what you all companion plant regularly. This year I have planted Anise Hyssop with my kale. I seeded them together in the cell and to my surprise they don't seem to care. Actually the kale with the hyssop looks bigger than those without - which could just be random of course.

I intend on being extremely careful with mine. I won't let them get that big.

Hardy Kiwi Vine for those in cities and cold climates!

They do need a pollinator, that is two vines (male, female) in one hole. They are all like that but Hardy Kiwi produce an all green fruit (They are smaller but taste exactly like store bought kiwi) without the fuzzy skin and grow in cold climates.

Have you sprouted the what you've pruned from your fruit trees?

Air layering is a valid technique when the trees are taller and prior to pruning. It also has a very high success rate.

Have you sprouted the what you've pruned from your fruit trees?

I let them grow until I can pull them down to the ground. I peel back the woody material and then put the branch on the ground and cover it soil, a board, and a heavy rock. By the end of the season the limb has produced roots. I've done this with fruit trees and hazel nuts as well as several...

Garden Prep 2015 - Ground Covers

I've still got about 1/2 a foot of snow on the ground and our soil temperature is currently 22 degrees F. but I can still get a little work done for the garden. I've started mixing my edible ground cover blend, with a little alteration from last year... This blend gets sown all over the...

Are we a GMO or what ?

The only issue I think most people have is, they don't know what is GMO (Safely assume everything that doesn't explicitly say it isn't) ; no labeling so they can't make an informed purchase. I can understand the frustration.

Are we a GMO or what ?

The EU has been studying GM safety for a decade. They chose to ban them based off of their research. Be a peer, go review their research. Here is the overview http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/10408390701855993#.VRALdY7F-Uk Google scholar has access to the actual papers - I recommend...
