Figure out what they like to eat and poison them. Maybe a mix of boric acid powder and corn syrup, that is essentially what is in those clear little plastic ant traps but it should be in a container with a small opening at ground level so they can get in easily but other animals can't.
I find that things I grow from seed are sturdier than what I could get at the nursery because I give them more light so they have thicker stems per height and aren't "as" root bound since I use larger pots per their size at the time of repotting... and some nursery plants aren't even in more...
What sized container and how big is the plant? Pictures might help. How often and how much water are you giving them? What's your seasonal rainfall rate, under average, average, or above average? If under average I tend to think it's watering too little for the temperatures that is causing...
^ Maybe, a couple details should be considered.
1) Was it upside down on the plant? If it's sun scald that tends to happen on the portion pointed upwards.
2) Was it covered by leaves? Sun scald doesn't happen in the shade, though in EXTEMELY hot weather (well over 100F) I suppose the...
You might want to update your forum profile info to include your location including growing zone and city/state as it can help in some cases.
Most likely blossom end rot, a calcium deficiency in the plant but in many areas of the US right now the issue isn't a lack of calcium in the soil...
Is your okra doing any better? Mine seemed to get used to the heat and are no longer aborting buds but I'm watering fairly often. One thing I have noticed is that it really benefits from as much sun as possible, some in a location that is shaded by early afternoon are now less than 1/4th the...
Your post is very suspicious. It looks like you are a blog spammer who has taken other peoples' content, posted that here and there, then (now) try to get site visitors for advertising money.
BER is more common in soil where crops weren't rotated year after year, or in pots. Otherwise it's more likely the lack of water in your case. I'd definitely water more often because if you were to get a big rain there's a fair chance the tomatoes will start splitting from the sudden moisture...
I'd let them live, elsewhere. If a bird doesn't get to it first then a wasp may come along and lay some eggs in it then you have more predators and pollinators.
My okra was really a pain this season. I started with bad seed, not realizing it so I went through several seedings before I gave up and bought seed elsewhere.
Then it grew really slow due to cold weather, but with temps now 95-100F it is really taking off. Problem is it doesn't seem to...
I guess I'm lucky the leafhoppers aren't touching anything I'm growing except okra. How long does Sevin keep? I have a container of it that I just opened which is probably over 25 years old. It's cardboard with the dust in it if that makes a difference.
Thanks for the suggestion but I am doubting that's what it is because all the info I could find on Candlelights suggested a short/compact/dense plant around 16" tall, while this plant has (or at least used to) have a very unique tall, tree-like shape. That and a Candlelight seems to be capsicum...
