That's the problem... we don't HAVE a nursery here. :(
ETA: I did try to look it up... but it looks like the closest nursery (which is still an hour away) is mainly doing shrubs and cold hardy palm trees. NOT what we're looking for! LOL
This would be on the west side of our house... so after noon it would get direct sunlight. I'm not exactly sure WHAT I want there. I've read that part of the pollen can be toxic in rhododendron if made into honey. That kinda scares me!
I posted them on craigslist and I've got 4 people wanting...
So, we ARE tearing out the boxwood shrubs out front (i think that's what they are!), but I have a question about that. If we simply cut them off art the ground will they come back? I'm not sure how we would actually get them OUT. They've been in there since the house was put in and I'm afraid...

If I knew who did it... their parents would be paying to replace ALL of the plants we lost... and I'm SURE I would have some bunny cages that needed cleaned, coops that needed cleaned, gravel that needed moved, compost that needed moved...
It just makes me so mad that people don't CARE what...
Unfortunately... we don't know who the kids were. They egged several cars/houses in the neighborhood though. I remember one time my older sister and brother got in trouble for soaping houses on Halloween. My mom marched them to every house in town that had been soaped, even if they didn't do it...
Yes... if my children did something like that, they would be going to each persons house and cleaning everything they messed up! I was so upset! I guess it's a good thing that I did bring in the one plant that we were planting elsewhere because it's my very last Mexico Midget tomato!!
So... remember how we planted early??
Well, we covered the tomatoes really well... but some neighbor kids were traipsing about egging houses and tore down the sheeting over the tomatoes... and lost them. We didn't cover the cauliflower, broccoli, or brussel sprouts and lost them too!? What the...
We have a frost advisory for tonight. :he
We have plenty of coverage, so I'm not super duper worried about it. They're still doing okay though! Been some high wind, so a couple of the little leaves have taken a beatin, but, overall doing great!
They are actually doing very well. Started putting up new growth and one even has some flowers blooming! There is a chance of frost this weekend, so, they're going to get covered. These are in a raised bed, so, the soil is very warm.
Hmmm... I'm not sure if we have a public garden... I'm going to have to look that up!
I know that Azaleas are EVERYWHERE here. I do think they are pretty in their hot pinks, purples, and whites, but, not as pretty as roses. :)
