That makes sense because I actually rolled the sides down for the ones in the bag and then as they grew I rolled the bag back up and filled with dirt. So I'll likely just use the bags as the main source and then keep experimenting with other types
A few of the little bulbils I tester planted started to grow so I will definitely be planting a bunch in the fall once we get the front bed finished. I will definitely plant Later in the fall this time. Do I dig them up in the spring and replant in fall or just let them keep going in ground...
I also saw a video where someone used old Chicken Feed bags.
These weren't terribly expensive and they have a little side hatch to harvest potatoes without pulling the whole plant.
The 5 gallon bucket was a last minute tester since I only had 2 little seed potatoes left and wanted to test both...
I am definitely very scared of pruning it LOL I didn't know I needed to prune it while it's still so small. We usually still have snow in feb/march I'll look unto when pruning is best around here. I did see 1 sucker on the base this year!
So this is my first year trying to grow potatoes. I did a layer let them grow added more dirt and now they look like this should i add more dirt?
I have a ton more potato seeds that were gifted to us and I want to get it right LOL
We planted this Red delicious Apple tree in August 2020. This is the first year it blossomed. Is it a good sign for apples?
Yes we have other Apple trees around.

Thank you so much for all the info and help. I don't mind trying again. This was my first go at growing garlic and I honestly wasn't sure how it would go I didn't expect it not to grow at all 🤣
But we'll try again and I'll be choosing another area lol. I'll keep this bed for seasonal things...
I will try a few this weekend and see how it goes. I feel blessed by the kindness. This isn't the first time he has given us gardening things. We give him eggs all the time. He has a garden I will be giving him some of my extra tomato plants.
I was worried when we had the warm up in November theybstarted to grow then we had the freeze out. I read when that happens I might kill the bulb. I will take a look at the suggested reads. Thanks! I'm bummed but maybe next year I'll try a ground level bed instead of the raised up one.
I put...
