mandieg4, I had guessed that your taters were in the tires, as I read about someone doing in another post...wouldn't have guessed they were 'maters! ;)
:woot
Now what do you plan to do - spread it out & build around it for raised beds? Or shovel it into wheel barrows & take it to a different spot? (I don't envy you the hauling...it took DH & I 2-3 hours just to shovel out the bed of his pickup & carry the dirt to our new raised beds.) ;)
Be glad you read this thread before you ate your first head of broccoli! ;) It is not a pleasant sight, seeing those critters floating in the boiling water, but better there than in your tummy (IMHO).
I was forewarned by a gardening neighbor when I lived in VT, otherwise I would've had NO...
Heeheehee...I used to blanch mine before freezing, & was always amazed at all the worms that floated to the top (another :sick). To this day I don't like eating the florets, just the stems (I know, weird). If I get any broccoli this year (not a single head last year :(), they're going to the...
Thanks, ya'll, that's what I was afraid you'd say...;)
BUT...I didn't see it on every plant, maybe 4 or so, so I hope I'll be able to salvage some. Lettuce & spinach looked okay. :)
vfem - I think my apple trees made it...neither has blossoms yet, & my pear finished blossoming last week. :fl...

I'll mention here that I've never grown arugula before (I don't even particularly like it, I'm...
We did the kiddie wading pool thing last year, it was a quick-and-easy solution to having too much dirt delivered, unexpectedly. ;) We grew onions & lettuce in them with no problem. Then DH was digging out the dried-out roots of some old lettuce that bolted & made a big hole in the bottom of one...
I started on BYC as well, then switched over to SS, which (IMHO) has more info of all kinds (animals, gardening, preparedness, etc.)...but when I have a specific gardening question I post on TEG. :)
Gosh, I hope it's not too late...my spinach is only about an inch high; if it's too late already, I'll never get any spinach! :/
And you tell those chickens, they get to have the garden after everything is done growing! :D
That may have been me. :) DH got some cheap from a neighbor who had some left over from a project. So far I have 3 large & 3 small beds out of it.
I sure hope it last decades! Maybe I'll post pix one of these days. :D
