    you could try it but corn is one of those things that really doesnt like transplanting. I tried it last year in an attempt at early corn and they didnt grow after planted.

    not sure what your weather is like but if its still on the cooler side you can try to force it to sprout by "tenting" it in clear plastic. some farmers started doing it here to get early corn and it worked well. Corn likes the hot days.

    i just hoe the rows about a foot apart to walk thru and drop the seed maybe 6 inches apart. But if you dont need to walk rows I guess you could get closer.

    last year I planted the yellow pear shaped grape tomatoes, even though I dont like tomatoes, everyone I gave them too loved them. I planted more this year and Roma's. one of the italian ice is just about dead I think but its been poor since I planted it.

    I was late last year but still do ok, and just last week I just forced mine in peat pots and one of those clear plastic trays, with enough heat they grow fast.

    In Pennsylvania 97 degrees with 50%+ humidity....is hot! We only hit tripple digits a couple days a year and thats plenty. I planted my tomatoes about 7pm last night after I noticed it was shaded at that time.
