    Cutting back chives???

That's the ticket!!! :D I have a jar sitting in my cupboard that looks just like that :D I let it set for a few weeks then strain and bottle. That and taragon vinegar are my two favorites. Great ways to keep getting those flavors in your food all year round.

garden space left, what to do with it?

Oh yeah! Ground cherries. Mine did great last year. Then everyone told me they would seed all over the place so I blew off starting plants for this year. Of course none grew on their own, but I have seeds for next year :D

    More grape talk.

I bought my plants on a whim. I didn't test soil or anything. I just let it go. Now I get huge harvests on a regular basis. Grapes are pretty forgiving if you get a good variety for your climate.

garden space left, what to do with it?

I just got seeds for huckleberries, so I have never used them. But I try to get seeds for something different every year. I don't have a place for them right now so I will plant them next year. Since in have grape vines I was planning on mixing huckleberry with grape if the huckleberry flavor...

    Cutting back chives???

That's a great looking patch! I usually cut mine back just from use :D You could just cut the blooms off and leave the rest. I don't see a need to cut everything back. To not let all those blooms go to waste, fill a glass jar with them, pour vinegar over the top and put it somewhere cool and...

    Growing grapes??

First of all, it will take a year or so before you need to panic about the arbor, so BUY THE PLANTS NOW!!! :D Second, the arbor can be pretty much whatever you want it to be. Ours is a simple 4x4 cube of sorts with some 2x2 slats over the top. It actually makes up part of our duck run and the...

Korean purple sweet potato slips? ORDER IS IN!

Slips came in. The violettas looked great. The carogolds looked like they had been stepped on by an elephant. Total mush. A quick email to Pam and they sent replacements without a single fuss. Mistakes happen and I judge a company by how they handle these hiccups. Based on my experience I...
