The stuffed pepper is definitely more popular but I prefer the stuffed tomato. There are only a few tomatoes suitable for stuffing. That is why I am working on this variety.
Here is a variety that I have been growing and selecting for a couple years. I am trying for a small stuffing tomato. If you would be interested in growing out some, let me know and I will send you some seeds. The tomatos from the parent are a great tasting tomato itself. Even if you don't get...
This is a new variety for me this year (Don Juan) I got the seed from J&L seed seed. It is so solid that I will have to buy more seed next year because I am not getting any. It has made a great tasting sauce.
I just got done saving some peace vine cherry tomatoes and they have a slight red tinge to them. Is that normal for this variety? I have never saved this tomato before.
I will only save seed from the other plants for the Heirloom, so that I can maintain the proper seed.
I am surprised at the variation myself. That is why I am going to save seed from several different tomatos on that plant and grow them out in a different garden that is about 5 miles away. Even...

I have not had any ripen yet but I one that looks like it will be red. As far as I can see it looks like about 5 tomatos from that plant will have ribbing to a various degree. The tomato in the picture has the most pronounced ribbing. I couldn't get a good picture of the other 4 but I will add a...
I have been growing a family Heirloom tomato for about 20 years now called "ziegler's fleisch" up until now I have had the same tomatos show up year after year (same shape, size, color). However this year I have a new shape showing up, it's a ribbed shape. I don't think it's a result of an...
