Here is a picture of the leaves. I love the crinkled leaves. I have high hopes for this melon. I had to do a replant and I am very excited to get anything.

    Noir des carmes cantaloupe

Has anyone grown this cantaloupe "Noir des carmes"? I was just wondering what to expect with this melon. I already had a little surprise. The leaves are crinkled, I didn't expect that. By all the descriptions I read, this is supposed to be a wonderful eating melon and I was just wondering if...

    Lost rugosa rose

I love rugosa roses. I had a very large collection until my divorce. The schneezwerg was my favorite. I am going to purchase some of the others too.

    What Looks Best?

I like how you did your tomato caging. I am switching to cattle panels next year, as this will be the final season for my concrete reinforcement wire cages.

    Lost rugosa rose

I am looking for a dwarf rugosa rose called schneezwerg or sometimes called snow mountain. I found it at high Country roses but they were out of stock. It only reaches 4-5 ft tall and I had one but lost it in my divorce. Then she tore it out instead of offering it to me. If anyone has seen it...

    BER Help!!!

Lack of potassium can also contribute to BER. If you have an agriculture fertilizer place near you they carry potassium all by itself, which means you don't have to purchase n-p-k mixture. You can purchase just the k. A lot of times if you are wanting less than a pound or two they will just give...

Picture Of The Week (POW) Information & Submissions

Yes. I have to wait until mine goes to seed before I will have any. It has been self seeding for 8 years. Funny thing is I planted the original seeds on the north west side of the house and it is now growing on the south east side of the house.

Picture Of The Week (POW) Information & Submissions

When it gets about two foot tall we will cut a bundle, tie it up and then hang it in the house somewhere and it smells really nice.

Picture Of The Week (POW) Information & Submissions

All I know is that I planted it 8 years ago and it spreads like wild fire. Every year I have to get rid of a lot of it and confine it to where I want it to grow.

Picture Of The Week (POW) Information & Submissions

I don't know. I have never heard of it being called sweet cicely but given how long and its ability to grow just about anywhere, I would say that there is probably a lot of different names it goes by. Just depends on where you live.

    Planting cantaloupe & watermelon

I was able to get a friend to grow out a watermelon and an Indian melon called "sweetness". This way I am able to get the seeds from 4 different melons without the chance of cross pollination.

    Low budding leaves

Thanks. I noticed that too. How far away from the base of the tree should I keep the mulch?

    Low budding leaves

Absolutely! I got down on the ground to look because I thought it might be the roots suckering

    Planting cantaloupe & watermelon

I decided to plant one in rows and one in hills. Btw you are right, you don't need a reason for everything.

    Low budding leaves

I checked and none of the buds above what is already leafing out are swollen. The stem its self above the leaves is green and supple. My other 2 trees bloomed and I hand pollinated them. I know I shouldn't have but I couldn't resist seeing if I would get an apple or two. I will wait a few months...
