I would not think you could use is as a caner. Pressure caning corn for instance takes at least 55 minutes at 10 pounds pressure and that is after venting steam for 10 minutes then waiting for the pressure to get to 10 pounds. (11 pounds for a gauge ) I personally would not try it. Better safe...

How are you taking the zukes off of the plant. I usually just very gently twist mine off.

Ask them if they will give you a rain check on some of the plants that are "out of season". Never hurts to ask.

My favorite way is to get some good smokey bacon and cut into 1 inch pieces and fry till almost done, add that to the green beans, add 1 chopped medium sweet onion, add enough water to cover and bring to a boil and then simmer till done. Salt and Pepper to taste. Slim tinder ones are also good...

I grew butternuts last year and when they started to turn closer to the brown color that you see in stores, I cut them off of the vine.
