Okay, i planted carrots, beets, yellow and green beans, tomatoes, peppers, sweet corn, spinach, lettuce (mesclun mix), honeydew melon, cucumbers, and zuchini.
My garden plot is20 x 30, if all goes well this year, I will expand next year by 10' to include potatoes and onions. i would have done...
i guess it was my expectations. I was expecting the ones like you buy in the bulk food store. Mine were chewy, and I wan't real pleased with them. It was a long time ago, I think i tried another batch dipping them in honey(but I' not sure right now) they still didn't turn out the way I would...
Well, it has been quite busy here the last while. So far, I got two pastures planted for the horses, transplanted a huge rhubarb plant, raspberry bushes, and got my apple and pear tree planted.
My garden plot has now finally been completed--from scratch--i rented a sod lifter, and removed all...
I have dehydrated onions, carrots, peppers, tomatoes , herbs. I have also done apples, bananas, (not good), and made fruit leather. I'm sure you could throw a mix together for soup. You could probably google dehydrator sites for recipes
thanks Pat, I'm just using it loosely as a guide. For instance, I use the Windsor dates for reference, and it says 4/25. yet wa had frost last night. :/
Just myself for supper tonight, hubby working kids with friends. so all this talk of sundried tomatoes, plus a look in the fridge , I see pasta, , some veggies that need to get eaten, and a bag of shrimp in the freezer. sounds good! I'm excited, julienne the veggies saute them stir in the...
When I lived up north N.Ont, Can. We used to go blueberry picking, and wintergreen (gaultheriea)grew there. I used to pick it and freeze it to use for tea. It has a scent you could get lost in. apparently, this variety grew wherhardly anything else would.
Sorry--not much help...
Always wanted chickens, but not practical for me to have them before now. have been gardening for about 6 years. --veggies, not flowers next come goats, pigs, rabbits....... the kids are getting older, and i need more to do, or i might have to become obsessive about cleaning my house---and I'd...
Okay, while I was out in the yard--I was pondering this.....Is there too much of a good thng? As inchicken poop? Just curious, as I'm sure it would depend on how many chickens you let work the ground
I THINK, but I don't KNOW--you can buy a kit at tsc or someplace. i think I hear that before.... Someone else have input??? (I have never tested my soil)
I LOVE this idea!!!! I must have missed the thread on BYC, but I will read it. I think this idea is great. however, the initial set up of the area will take some time. I have jsut staked out my garden area. But, with this info, I just have to move it a bit and it will definitely be doable...
I would venture to say that the white stuff is mould. and i am surprised after such a short drying time. I am not familiar with your machine, but does it have turn settings on the lid? If so, make sure these are opened all the way. And have you been rotating the trays? top to bottom and...
I haven't caged my cukes, but I have always grown them up a fence. It has always worked great for me. i have also done my melons--(yes watermelon) too.
#1 Suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, i had a bad flare up directly after buying herbs. One of the herbs I bought was mint which I had intended to plant in a CONTAINER. long story short--I'm cheap--didn't want to lose the plant and didn't have the gumption to haul out potting soil...
If you really wanted to take this further, you could find out your rights as a homeowner--check bylaws, etc., then talk to the landlord.
they do condemn houses......and slate for destruction......rotted trees need to be taken down......
All i'm saying is you could pursue this......
