Everything is in raised beds with organic soil. I will try watering more. They do say that raised beds require more watering..... I just thought I was watering enough. All the plants look healthy,,,,just small. I will try pinching off the flowers of the smaller plants. Now my garden beans and my...
Is it the wrong time of year to grow cabbage and lettuce?
I have some planted but it is not growing. Its not dying either, but it is not growing. could it be too hot? I am in north carolina.
the plants look great. the leaves are nice and green, no stripes. They are just really short. the tallest one is about 2.5 feet. the rest are way smaller and they are tassling out also. The stalks are nice and sturdy. And I was worried about them shadowing other plants!! Who knows, maybe they...
They are in a raised bed. They are maybe 5 inches tall. It just seems strange... my cucumber plants are small, but they are starting to produce...so are my zuccini. And everywhere I read said tha zuccini takes over! And then there is the corn that is tassling out and most of them are less than 2...
How tall is okra suppose to get, and when do you harvest? I got seeds with no instructions. they are growing, and I think they are starting to develop....but they seem small to me. In fact, everything I am growing so far seems to be smaller than it should be....maybe I bought mutant shrinking...

thanks ocf....I did that this afternoon and did find some taters down there....now I guess I will wait until the plants die out and then see whatta got! I read to wait 2 weeks after the plants die to harvest, is this true? anyone else grow them before?
I am attempting to grow corn. My corn plants are flowering (if that is the correct term) but two are only about 2.5 feet tall, the rest are shorter. What is going on???

Thanks. :( I will look into repellents....but I really want to stay away from as many "chemicals" as I can. My cat was always an indoor cat until I moved here. Then for what ever reason he would do what ever possible to escape. On one of those occasions was when this happened. He must of been...
:bun :bun: bun I am concerned about bunnies.....last year, what little flowers I had were consumed by bunnies. I had a cat that would escape outside, and that took care of the bunnies in the back, but he rarely hung out in the front yard so they went to town there. Now I don't even have him...
I am also concerned about bunnies.....last year, what little flowers I had were consumed by bunnies. I had a cat that would escape outside, and that took care of the bunnies in the back, but he rarely hung out in the front yard so they went to town there. Now I don't even have him for protection...

Hey I joined!! Now if I get even half of the good advice I got on BYC then I am already off to a good start!! I am actively looking to see if I can find a green thumb. I am trying my hand at gardening this year. My dad used to garden, so there must be a gene in there somewhere...its just a...
